Default Sara

I read or heard an interview where Stevie said Sara was originally like 18 minutes long and the cut it down to 16 and then down to 12 and down to 8 and then down to its tusk version. And she said something like "Is the name sara even going to be in the song?" Has this 18 minute version ever seen the light of day...anyone know where it can be downloaded?

As far as I know, it has never surfaced. Is the cleaning lady version the longest one that's out there, or is there one that's longer?

I love how she said that Don Henley said that 'Sara was almost acceptable in its 16 minutes' haha.

I think she actually said 'almost acceptable in its 16 minuteness'. Sorry to be pedantic, but for me, that was what made that quote just perfect!

I always liked when she said to BAM "one big rumpled up ball of tuskness."

Thank you...I have heard the cleaning lady version but not this one. Maybe she'll record the 22 minute version for that piano album I want her to record

Sara was originally a 293 minute song produced for German television. Needless to say, the version that appeared on Tusk was cut down quite a bit.

Excerpt from an interview with Emily Armstrong:
http://www.zoiksonline.com/2011/09/f...in-helped.html

One of the best albums in 2011 comes from a band called Dead Sara. The band is fronted by the powerful voice of Emily Armstrong. With a debut album dropping next month and a current tour with Bush, Dead Sara is hitting on all cylinders. Emily recently stopped by to discuss the band, their sound and her early influences.

Q – Where did the name Dead Sara come from?

A - It comes from a Fleetwood Mac song "Sara" where in it she says, "Said Sara," or "That’s Sara" but Sioux and I liked it as, "Dead Sara" and later decided it as our name.

OK. This is where me being a fairly new fan (only 5 years now!) shows through.

Is there a reason why we can't download the complete version of Sara? Has Stevie not made a demo of the complete version or has she stuck that tape in her vault somewhere?

Now I'm going to double check and see how long Sara was orignally because I thought the longest it was orignally written for was like 18 mins!
