It wouldn't let me view it! I'm too lazy to sign up for anything, any way to post the pic directly?

Wow, what a pic! I know they are going for the serious look, but honestly, Stevie does not look that comfy.
Love the outfit though..very wicked like.

Thanks for posting this...

I am having trouble attaching the pic for those of you who are unable to see it. I would love to send the pic to someone who can attach it here for everyone to see.

Stevie and Michelle were the fourth one that came up for me.

I did this in AOL. It does not appear to work when I use a different ISP.

On anther note - I HAVE to post Dolly Paron and Alison Krauss's blurb as Dolly's answer could be Stevie's anser they are so similar to me. Also, the bolded part from Dolly is just hysterical - remember this is the same woman who routinely says "it costs alot to look this cheap" and has often compared herself to a drag queen!!!!!!!!! I also love her candor about being in music foir everything including the money.

The fan: Alison Krauss, the country and bluegrass musician who has won 13 Grammys and is recording a CD (Rounder) due out this year.

The idol: Dolly Parton, whose 80 albums, including the new Ultimate Dolly Parton (BMG Heritage), have sold 100 million copies.

Krauss on Parton: "I always loved Dolly. I remember hearing 'Islands in the Stream' at the skating rink. I'm in awe of her whole personality. It's such a beautiful thing to be around. The songwriting and singing—she's just an honest human being. Everything about her is an inspiration. I used to just stare at her. Her beauty, personality and manner overshadow the raw talent that she has. I don't think there will ever be another person close to what she's like."

Parton on Krauss: "It's very humbling to think that Alison thinks that I'm the star. It makes me feel good; it makes me feel old! I don't know if I'm an icon or an eyesore.

But when Alison says I was an inspiration, it makes me want to get out and write or sing a better song to impress her. Actually, I'm not half the musician she is. Alison has perfect pitch. I'm more of a gut singer—I don't worry if I miss a note here or there. Alison is not in this business for the money, she's truly in it for the music. See, I wanted everything: the stardom, the money, the movies. But I was always true to myself, and for me that worked."

THAT is ONE AMAZING PHOTO!

macmar71 · #9 06-20-2003, 08:53 PM

Thanks for posting the photo as I have been wondering about it. I kind of had a different image floating in my mind though. Maybe a little more flowing like the TISL cover and the beach being more present in the background

Bella Figura · #10 06-20-2003, 09:28 PM

what a great photo!!! I just love Stevie in her hat. It's great how Stevie is so willing to let younger stars get close to her and this photo catches that idea perfectly...

Ok, Im hopeful the bookstore will have it this time. We're going to wait for HP5, so Ill have time to read the rag & daydream over the photo.

Here you go..

The fan: Singer-songwriter Michelle Branch, a Grammy winner for her collaboration with Santana. Her second CD is Hotel Paper (Maverick).

The idol: Rock and roll icon Stevie Nicks, whose combined album sales from Fleetwood Mac and solo projects total more than 60 million (the group's latest is Say You Will, on Reprise).

Branch on Nicks: "I grew up listening to my mom's Fleetwood Mac records. I remember hearing Stevie's voice on 'Rhiannon' for the first time. It just sucks you in. She was my favorite part—in front of that whole band, carrying it with her voice and songs as a female, as a writer, as a musician. I'm from Arizona and she's from Arizona, and as I got older, it was kind of like, Wow, someone actually made it out of Arizona and did this? I admire her for being strong and living through it. She's a rock chick, one of the girls that you're always jealous of because she's hanging out with the guys."

Nicks on Branch: "Michelle's got a little funky thing going on. I can see that she wants to be kind of what I wanted to be like: able to kick butt in order to have people take me seriously. I didn't want to be too beautiful. As far as being a music maven goes, I'm still doing this, and I want her to see that the road is unending if you get into your craft and fight for it. It's a lot about your attitude—your attitude to not give up."
