I wouldn't be surprised if there were a bunch of Silicon Valley CEOs in the front row, maybe even Larry Ellison! There are a lot of expensive restaurants and places for wine tasting on site, so it's a different kind of concert experience, very mellow, but high-end.

It's hard to get up to this venue (literally driving up the mountains), so allow PLENTY of time for traffic. I'd suggest at least 90 minutes because I recall it being a single road for at least part of the way. Be sure to park by the entrance as it is EXTREMELY difficult to get out of the venue after the concert (this was not thought out very well). One way in, one way out. When I saw Margaret Cho there last year, it took almost an hour to exit the venue, much of time spent in the car not moving. I don't think there is any other easy way to get to this venue (e.g. public transit).

The Fillmore shows, on the other hand, will be the true rock and roll experience Given it's small size, it will be packed with just diehards. It's basically general admission, standing room only with very limited side seating on the first and and second levels.

I'm debating whether I'll go to the Mountain Winery show. But I'm definitely doing the Fillmore.
How close is the Mountain Winery to San Fran?

Default Fillmore!

Wow, I had been bummed because she didnt play SF on this tour, but my faith is restored! And to play the Fillmore at that!
I have a trip to Seattle that weekend but I think I will have to fly back Sunday afternoon to make this show. This is really going to be historic, because she has talked about playing the Fillmore & going to see bands there back in the Fritz days.
The Fillmore is so intimate. I love the chandeliers that are hanging over the open floor. Also, when bands play there they usually give you a poster at the door with the artist and Fillmore date, it's really cool. I've got a nice Morrissey poster from his show there in 2007.
Thanks Stevie!!!

I just notice this show on her WB site.

10/12 Anaheim, CA- The Grove

I had a feeling she was going to add another leg to the tour.

I'm proud of her doing so.I'm glad all of you will be getting Stevie shows in Cali.

The Mountain Winery is in Saratoga, which is about one hour (maybe a little under an hour) south of San Francisco. If you go to both shows, you'll have to rent a car for the MW show or maybe there will be people from this website that will go who you can get a ride with. Tickets for the Fillmore show are $125 but for the MW show they range from $70 to (gulp) $250.

I think I may end up only going to one of the Fillmore shows.

I am truly mystified about these smaller, general admission shows, e.g., The Grove of Anaheim. What is really going on with this woman? Is she trying out new material? Are these dress rehearsals for the Australian tour with Dave? I love her for doing this, but the mind boggles.

I think it makes sense, really. Stevie herself knows she is no longer a huge draw so these small shows will bring in her faithful fans who are still out there & it's a win win situation. She draws a full house, gets the adoration of the people who get & appreciate her music-old and new, and she can feed off the energy.
I love that she is doing this. These are the kind of venues she should be playing now.

I'm PRAYING to the Stevie gods that she keeps this ball rolling and goes to Portland or somewhere driveable. Completly at odds with what to do. Ack! Is the Grove an ampitheatre?

Agreed 1000%. I've been saying for a while her welcome-to-my-living-room-have-a-seat vibe is perfect for these venues.

She is obviously still a shed/arena draw, albeit on the 4,000 - 7,000-seat scale. And if her ticket prices were lower, she could probably sell out more places. I get that it must be more fun playing these small places, but the fact remains that she is not making her usual payday. The Fillmore is about half the size of the Wiltern! But then again, this is not the first time she's done this sort of thing before- she has played the House of Blues and the Whiskey-a-Go-Go (which were both radio broadcasts). But I'm shocked that she is doing so many of these small shows. Again, I love the fact that she is doing these shows. But it's obvious that she doesn't need to. This is why I suspect there are some tricks up her gossamer wizard sleeves.

But isn't the GA thing a non-starter with Tod?

The Grove is an indoor place that can be configured for both GA and seated shows. I suspect she is doing the GA thing since the Wiltern was mostly GA.

Hope you guys can come down for some or all of these shows! I have this strange feeling that these will be special.

To go to both Fillmore shows or not to go to both Fillmore shows? That is question.

Hell, you only live once, right?

If she is going to film I'll bet she does it at the Fillmore...this venue has much more nostalgic value and gravitas to her then say the Wiltern I'm sure.

I am BEYOND happy that she is doing the Grove in Anaheim!! I've never been there but i guess it's a small venue? It's 1 1/2 hrs from where i live in San Diego -totally do-able!

I'm in Anaheim right now, actually. Went to Disneyland (the SECOND -most happiest place in the world, the FIRST being a Stevie show of course.)

I checked airfare on 3 different airlines, plus 3 different airports on Southwest. None are under $400 RT. This is something I would REALLY love to do, however I dont think I'll be able to make it. I'm going to Lindsey's birthday show in Jacksonville plus all the shows from Phoenix-San Francisco and it's jut not possible. Oh well. I'll enjoy watching the video's people will post.
