Isn't it supposed to rain like holy hell in NY tonight? Surprised they haven't rescheduled this.

"The safety of our guests, artists and staff is Priority #1. We have been carefully monitoring the weather conditions w/ the public authorities and consulting with the artist management. According to the NWS rain showers are likely after 10pm Saturday. The heavy rain and wind related to Irene is expected early Sunday morning at approximately 2a-5a. The venue, staff and artist is prepared to provide the safest environment for concert-goers this evening. The concert is scheduled to end at 10:35pm."

That's probably the opening of the parking lots @ 4 PM.

This has all the hallmarks of a disaster waiting to happen. It all boils down to greed, not concern for safety.

It's not that far off the map to truck her stuff from JB to Bethel. As I see it.
Agreed. No one lives in Bethel. Everyone is coming from someplace else. It's not getting to the show, it's getting back from it. Why on earth are they encouraging people to come out in an oncoming hurricane? I just don't get it.

Wow. They can't start the show early and expect all of you to know that's what's happening. More than half of the people won't be there and they would be entitled to a full refund if that happened.

Well said. I can not believe Stevie would endanger her fans knowing they will be driving through treacherous conditions on the way home from the show. Stevie may be able to get out of Bethel quickly but her fans can't. This is not good....especially since Stevie is telling people "Rhiannon says "stay out of the wind" ....what is Stevie thinking sending her fans into the wind?

Safe travels. I wouldn't do it, knowing what the drive back is going to be like. I hope someone on here has your cell # in case the show gets canceled.

She took a bus from NYC to Bethel, and all airports are closed in the area, correct? She isn't going to get out of there much faster than her fans if it turns bad quickly. But hey, what the hell,...let's endanger everyone because that is so much easier than rescheduling

I think maybe things sound worse than they are. It's easy to be dramatic.

Still, I keep thinking of Joplin now and how that one kid, Will Norton, got sucked out of his car by the wind. Seems like the whole town had attended a high school graduation, despite storm warnings and that's why so many people were on the road and hit by the twister when they were returning home. They should have just holed up at the school, until the worst was over.

I tuned in to CNN for a whole week just to see if they'd been able to locate Will Norton in any of the hospitals, but when he was found, it wasn't good news.
