They can be, but I love the depth & bold colors you can create with pastels. I also love charcoals. I've yet to dabble in oils...but I love experimenting with watercolors.

You have no idea how jealous I am of all of you for having artistic talent.

The worst for me was charcoals! I hate them!

I've always been okay with charcoal. Oil Paints I can't be doing with. It isn't through a lack of ability with them. Just a severe lack in patience waiting for the bloody paint to dry between layers. Unless you're painting the Sistine Chapel, it hardly seems worth it.

Every artist has their optimum mediums. And I always think that if you're under the impression that you're not creative, you just have yet to find the medium for you. Doesn't have to be conventional. I mean, my favourite mediums are acrylics, waste (cardboard, those thin boards that go on walls, wooden slats and other flat surfaced wastes), Coffee and salvaged papers. They don't necessarily sound as though they'd do much individually (apart from the acrylic obviously) but it's just about finding a way to marry them together for a unique and aesthetically pleasing style.

Ha. That's cool. I wouldn't even know where to begin creating something like that on a computer. If I have to make anything 3D I don't go beyond the usual Clay and salvaged objects. I'd love to be able to make things like that though *jealous*

I'm impressed by the works of Grace, Mimi and Christopher and everything that Bee has created.

You've captured the essence of Lindsey!

I actually much prefer drawings that are not an exact replica of a photograph - I like that it's your own interpretation!

I agree! That is very good Bee! And so are all your other ones You guys are all so talented. I'm not one of those people who say that can't draw, but then have an amazing piece of artwork to post. I really can't! But here are some cakes I made in April. Maybe I have a big ego about them because they were made for a 3 year old and 5 year old who absolutely loved them. Haha, don't judge me

A quick freehand sketch I did of Luna Lovegood, earlier this evening. How I imagined her to look when reading the Harry Potter books, as opposed to drawing Evanna Lynch.
