Cincy Meet Up

Hey all I was wondering if maybe we could meet somewhere in the venue before the concert? I'm kind of going by myself (in a way...my mom's going with me but she has a friend and there sort of fans but their not huge fans so my enthusiasm is not shared. Plus their sitting in a different section...so yep. All by myself

) and I would love to be able to share my enthusiasm with somebody! So maybe we could like meet in the main area of the venue...wherever that is lol

..But yes just let me know and hopefully we can all get together

I'm soo screwed. I never got a ticket to Cincy becuase of everything going on in my life. I live in Columbus. R there tickets left?

Us too! We've got a lot of different friends going & sitting in various different sections. But we'll be out mingling around before the show too. We going to our hometown gay bar afterwards to celebrate 3 different birthdays afterwards.Its a luau party & everyone is invited! Drag show too! If anyone wants to GPS or mapquest it & come join the after party, it's 13 Old Street Monroe, Ohio. Sure to be the best party in town after the show, see u all there!!!

Oh that sounds like fun. We've been trying to decide what to do after. Is that at a bar or someones house? How far from downtown is it? Were staying at the Garfield

It's a neighborhood lesbian/gay bar, been going there since I was 18. The owners & bartenders are fabulous & it's really laid back atmosphere, not the big crazy dance club vibe. Its about 25-30 minutes from downtown. Straight shot up 75. U should come!

Someone took me to that small little club in Monroe one time around 2002 and that was the only time I went ever. But I was going up to Dayton and 1470 and it a huge disco club so that's all I knew and liked. I did get to see Ashley West perform in Monroe that night though so it made it worthwhile. I am funny and never really done the gay scene but I did like going to 1470 which was gay, but brought out everyone really no matter what you were. That was the magic about it. People were themselves inside and never cared. You felt at home and amongst everyone.

Yes, the legendary Ashley West. She was show director of the club in Monroe for years before she retired to Tennessee. She still comes back every couple months to do shows there. 1470 is now Club MasQue. It's HUGE! We go there a lot too!

You all have fun. I do miss Riverbend in Cincy. Stevie always put on great kickass shows there.

Everytime she comes here, whether with the Mac or solo, theres always a strange single storm cloud that comes & soaks the people on the lawn right before she takes the stage & one year, she even came out & said a little "spell", pointed at the cloud & the wind shifted & carried it away. So even tho theres no sign of rain today, I'm just predicting a cloud or two to come along sometime before the show starts. It's the freakiest thing... but still cool nonetheless.

It did always seem to be half sunny with rain looking like it'll move in but it never rained us out at the shows I've seen her there. I always got under the roofed pavilion seating whenever I saw her there at the main Riverbend stage so I was never too worried

but no one wants rain at a concert! I remember her once saying something about moving the rain away, I'm wondering if it was one of your shows? Maybe GDT 2005 I'm thinking...

Ashley in the silver, of course. From pics people have uploaded. I have no clue who these other "women" are. But I've never seen anyone spin their head around like Miss Ashley West and I wonder if she can still do that today lol. It happened so fast, it was just a blur when she done it. It was awesomeness
