Hello All
I am thinking, that LB will be using Fontana Distribution for his CD. Actually, Richard Marx did the same on his last album , Stories To Tell, it was on a different label per say, but the actual CD was dist. via Fontana, and juding by IOOT, that is on Fontana site. Based off Marx's album. SWS will be offered at Walmart, probably will have a hard time findung it in a WM store, may need to order on WM site, and then it is a guessing game if available any where else Stories To Tell was via Fontana and was a Walmart Exclusive However, I dont think LB will be WM exclusive, i think it may be at FYE and or Best Buy But, Fontana is not bad, Stories To Tell packaging, etc, was pretty nice Thanks |

![]() The album-download is actually on pre-order on the Walmart site. With the remark: this album will not be available in stores.

If this is true, then I am very disappointed.

I actually suspected Fontana was going to distribute this album since it's the distributor for Eagle Rock Entertainment in the US. I'd been kind of keeping an eye on the site since that first announcement. That's actually how I found 'In Our Own Time' to post it on here.
Fontana is just an indie distribution arm of UMG so they have the potential to actually get it anywhere you can get a Universal artist CD. But it's not going to be everywhere because that wouldn't make financial sense. (Storage, slotting fees, returns, etc. can pile up) I don't think you can compare the handling of the two albums because, as you said, Richard Marx is a Wal-Mart exclusive. Those are two totally different approaches to marketing. And Lindsey's is definitely not an exclusive. It's really going to depend on what their marketing plan is as to where it's going to be sold. I'm thinking brick and mortars will be Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, FYE, basically any place that has a more extensive music section. Also, more major indie stores like Amoeba, Grimey's here in Nashville, ear X-tacy in Louisville, etc. All these places have some kind niche market albums/artists. But it's definitely going to depend on what market you are in as to how many, if any, your local stores will get. People may be forced to buy it online. By the way, the retailer one sheet says it will be a softpak like 'Gift of Screws'. |

I read all of my periodicals online now and I haven't seen a Parade magazine in years. I guess I better go find one. I can probably get it in the Los Angeles Daily News Sunday edition.
