CTF is the worst song on the album and I know that diehard fans don't gravitate to the same pop confections that mass audiences love, but I don't even think CTF is commercially attractive. Maybe Hannah Montana and one of the Jonas Bros. could make it a hit, but other than that . . .

Oh, ugh. Just the fact that Dave has it on his album too would be reason enough for me not to make it a single. The execs are stupid.

But again, this is just your opinion. There are other people on this board who *love* "Cheaper Than Free". The idea of testing for a single is intriguing though.

But there is a consensus. An overwhelming number of people hate Silver Girl. That doesn't mean that there are not some who love it. It just means it's not a favorite on average.

Early on I would have agreed that there was consensus....now I'm not so sure. Once the RS page was up I was seeing more and more people saying they liked or loved "Cheaper Than Free".

Also Nicks herself loves the song and thinks its one of the best things on the album.

The problem with Cheaper Than Free is it's just so slow and draggy, and doesn't really go anywhere. People would immediately flip the station if they heard that crap come on (I would!).

In Your Dreams is just so upbeat and chugging. I can totally hear it on the radio. Yeah, it's not the best song on the album... but it's the best song for radio.

It's the best song for certain types of radio. I could see "Cheaper Than Free" making it on country stations....but who knows. I'm not a record exec or radio station mgr so I couldn't do more than speculate.

The next single should be In Your Dreams. It is the one song from this album I can see getting airplay in all different types of formats. Stevie sounds great on the song and it shows she has lots of energy.

However, In Your Dreams is not my favorite song from the album. I think it sounds like a hit though.

If there was a God, "Moonlight" would be a #1 hit.

I think that when people research Moonlight on iTunes or other places and discover this song, she is going to get a lot more album sales. It's haunting and lyrically people will identify with it.

The stickers mean nothing. On both Under the Skin and Gift of Screws, the sticker listed songs that never were singles: Down on Rodeo, Love Runs Deeper, The Right Place to Fade.

Putting "vampire" parenthetically in the title might help it get more search hits.

But they will have to push it to the different type of radio stations, if they want the airplay. Even if it sounds country, for instance, it won't get that attention or rotation, because of who she is. Whatever Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow did to get country play (with a song that doesn't even sound like it fits that genre to me), Stevie people should do for her. I know with the Eagles Long Road Out of Eden it seemed like they made a concerted effort to expose it to a different (bigger) audience, with promotional contests and giveaways on the country stations. Michele

I think For What It's Worth and In Your Dreams are her best shots at singles. They're both insanely catchy, melody wise, and In Your Dreams is very driven.

Now how does this work- if we all got together and sent a bunch of requests for In Your Dreams to a bunch of country stations, after the album is released, even if this isn't selected as a single, might they play it?

I wouldn't be suprised if Moonlight was a single. It might explain the title change. "Lady from the Mountain," to a casual listener might sound kind of lame. A song with "vampire" in the title may entice people into giving it more of a chance. I wish the fans could vote. Mine would be Moonlight, hands down.

I actually much prefer the title Lady From The Mountain. It definitely still fits with the song and is both more and less ambiguous than Moonlight (which seems to me just to be a derivative of Twilight and New Moon) all at the same time.. it catches my ear more, personally.

I agree -- they're not my favourites, but so radio-friendly
