Ok, that's the worse one yet.

When Stevie listened to those FM albums back to front, Mission Bell must have stood out for her.

My love is higher than a mission bell (How deep?)
Deeper than a wishing well (How strong?)
Stronger than a magic spell . . .

After all the criticism I got yesterday for saying I hated the song and the video, I want to say I listened to the song a thousand times and this is my opinion now:
- Stevie sings really great.
- The song is not simple: It’s simply a bad song.
- The last lines “you child, you child” are just horrible.
- The “your hand” few seconds of the video look false and pathetic.
- She looks great.
- Dave Stewart looks as narcissistic as yesterday .
- Secret Love is a cute song, but Cheaper is not. What about (e. g.)Taylor Swift singing this song? What would you think? I love Stevie, but I’m not deaf.
- I hope the rest of the CD has nothing to do with this (though I can’t forget “Everybody loves you” and “Italian Summer” are there to make bleed a little more).
- And yes, I have enough with those little snippets to realize what’s coming next.

I agree with most of these points. I don't have a problem with Stevie being 'un-mystical'. I think that there are quite a few of her songs that have been simple and easy to understand without compromising on good songwriting (Landslide, I Don't Want to Know, Leather and Lace) but I'm not sure this is one of them. She looks and sounds amazing, and I think the drums and some of the guitar parts are great, but lyrically, this is one of her worst songs (IMHO).

I've been bitter for months about this song being on Stevie's record since a) it's gonna be on Dave's album and b) to my knowledge, she didn't write any of it (I could be wrong about this). But after hearing it and watching that video, I am totally in love with it!! I think the song itself is beautiful...corny at times, absolutely but their voices blend beautifully and I think the production is top notch. I think it probably could have worked well beingcompletely acoustic but the guitar/drums give it some ooomph. I don't think it sounds country at all and I really love the melody.

Now to the video...pretty priceless!! Stevie's expressions, especially while she's at the piano looking at Dave are so heartfelt and genuine. She looks like she's found something in herself and her music that's been missing for a long time. It's truly a delight to watch!!

True. But.... Look at the garbage that Genration X/Y has made hits lately...

"My Hump"
"Sexy Back"
"ALejandro"....

This is practically Shakespeare compared to those songs!

So I could see this song doing quite well for all the dumb brain-dead people that like the aforementioned songs.

It's a nice video, looks like they had a lot of fun making the album and Stevie sounds, and looks, great

However, I don't like the song. I've given it a chance, but I just dislike the lyrics and the music does not save it from the lyrics in my opinion. I really liked 'Secret Love' though so remain very optimistic for the rest of the album but this song will probably be skipped, a lot.

I totally relate to this bolded part, as that's been my exact thoughts/feelings since we all found out that CTF was gonna be on both Stevie AND Dave's record. But after hearing the whole song, I love it. The cornball lyrics work and their simplicity is sincere in its mushy sentimentality (grammar need not apply). The music is phenomenal imho and the whole song is catchy as f**k. Though, generally not a country fan or music buyer, I've never minded Stevie country-tinged songs. In fact some of them are among my favorites. This one is not as country as ATGF, but still has just enough to recall some of her more rootsy affairs And besides thats another reason why I love Stevie so much, is the diversity of musical styles she can pull off. It's never all the same or ever boring.
