DISCUSSION: Lindsey's songs from Tusk

Especially with all of the wonderful layering of vocals and drums tracks on a lot of the songs. I like what you said about Lindsey's role, so true. That's why I have so much love for the Tusk album. If you listen to it from beginning to end, the emotions are everywhere! Lindsey is angry, Christine is content, and Stevie is brokenhearted.(As far as the songwriting goes.) It's amazing.

That's pretty much how Lindsey approaches his music, I feel. He likes to be on the edge and pushing his boundaries on what he can do with his music. I've always found this endearing. Like I always say, when placed with a guitar in front of a microphone he becomes almost like a child in a sweet shop, wanting to dip his hand into everything and just enjoying the freedom of being able to do so.

Oh, absolutely. His boundary-pushing made Tusk what it was, made his solo albums what they are (especially Gift of Screws and Under the Skin, in my opinion). When you listen to a song like Tusk or say, Time Precious Time, you say to yourself, nobody else can do this. He's detailed. I can't watch him play and not get chills. He's severely underrated.

Yeah, I agree - the emotions are across the spectrum! But that's what I like about this album so much, it's disjointed to the point where it could be three completely different albums merged into one, but it just works so well! And I think that is all down to Lindsey.
