I went to a record and CD fair the other week and they had Rumours, Tusk and Mirage boots with all the demos on - so it was like an alternate album of stuff that didn't quite make it onto the actual album. They were £12 each and looked like they were pretty well made. I bought the Tusk one simply cos it had the studio version of Fireflies on it.

off topic a little - I just watched the VH1 'the nations favourite albums'.
Rumours came in at number 13. Various big names talked about it. Notably Stewart Copeland from the Police who described it as a 'guilty pleasure' since it ws supposed to be the antithesis of everything he stood for as a peroxide punk. Others too said they had resisted liking it because their parents had played it non stop when they were growing up but now all these years later they saw it for its true greatness. Debbie Harry spoke of how she related to the personal side of it since she too had had a 'passionate relationship with Chris who was in the band.' (Chris Stein, I assume not FM's Chris )Stevie was shown briefly talking about how blessed she was to have to have been in a great band. FM was described by a commentator as one of the greatest rock and roll bands. Michael Stipe said good things as did others and the final consensus was it's a 'masterpiece.' |

Has the original mix (the one on the LP and cassette when Tusk first came out) of I Know I'm Not Wrong ever been released on a CD? Every version I've heard, including the 4 on the expanded remaster are not the (IMO superior) original. I'd really like to hear that mix again sometime.

I don't mind Mirage. I don't think it's the best but I don't really dislike it. At one point, I did prefer it to Tusk. But now I don't know.

It's the same as the original but the polariod pic is the pic of the band floating around from the inlay and it says Tusk Demo's and Rough's accorss it instead of just "Tusk". The wierd thing I did notice about it is - it's ALL stevie demo's. It's stuff like Fireflies and Sara alternates and SOTM. There is also a jam session on there which turned into the tune of Beauty and the Beast...quite interesting...

I took my cassette version of Tusk awhile back and burnt it to CD just to have the different mix (or mixes) used for the cassette version (Which still sounds better than the CD to my ears). As for Tusk outtakes, I have some master reel sourced recordings that werent used for the remastered/expanded edition of Tusk (I will post those disc titles in a bit). Edit: Here's a few master reel discs that have some Tusk tracks Stevie Nicks-Jan.17,1980 Kind of Woman Sessions and Tusk Copies 1-9.
