Exclamation Important Please Read BEFORE putting names of songs in the subject line!!!!

With the new leg of the tour to begin in a month, I just wanted to remind everyone and perhaps, if I may, educate new people.

Many people on this board do not like knowing what songs are going to the in the new set. It spoils the experience for them. I am not one of these people but I know many here who are. So, if you make a post in any way about a new song, please put SPOILER in the subject line and refrain from putting any song concert song titles in the subject line. That way people can read it at their own risk.

I know the spolier people will thank you !!!!!!!!

And I thank YOU Jason! I'm one who does not want to be spoiled. Well, I like to be spoiled in other ways. Heh. But knowing the set list ahead of time is NOT one of them. I still want to kill whoever put "OMG Beautiful Child!!!!!" as their subject last year. Seriously. Kill.

Edit: And thank you Christy, for mentioning the spoiler in your post and making people scroll down. I didn't, but it wasn't easy!

Exactly. I would think fans come to these boards for information.
Because, quite honestly, if people are just here to conduct polls and give out lame-ass opinions, no one really gives a ****. Sorry.

True.
But what's wrong with giving the info just with a conciously written subjectline? It's just about caring for other fellowfans. If you think I'm soft, you're probably right.

Personally, I think the only way you are going to be surprised is to avoid as much as possible all printed matter... The boards on the net... and all other things Fleetwood Mac, until you've seen your show.

It's virtually impossible to NOT spoil something for someone if you read the boards and read every article posted... Just wait till the tour kicks in and people from these and other boards start seeing the shows.. Comments are going to be everywhere and Unless we put "SPOILER" at the beginning of every thread, people are going to find problems with what is posted.

As far as me, it's a choice I've made to come to these places to find the Up-To-The-Minute details on what is going on in the band, the tour, the set, what people are wearing, how they sounded, etc, etc.

Does this same "Spoiler" business mean that you don't want to know the track listing of any new albums that come out, like Christines in the future? So that when you buy it in the store, you can be "surprised" at how many, or how little tracks are on the disc.

I guess the question is, what do people come to these boards for?

Again, it is customary, esp. on this board.

No one is saying anyone has to do it.

It is just a nice thing to do that takes about two seconds.

If that is too onerous, don't do it.

The choice is your's to make - I was just letting people who may not know about this know about it.

Maybe Mick himself should have said "cover your ears now!" before revealing they were changing the set list, so not to upset anyone.
People can control what they hear on the radio. But, with all due respect, the point is you don't have to avoid the board if everyone could just show a little courtesy to those who want to avoid that kind of information. I was just posting this to let those who do not know about that custom (not posting new set list information in the subject bar and instead posting "SPOILER" ) in on it because I was grateful someone let me in on it before I inadvertantly spoiled something for someone Again, my word is by no means the law nor should it be. I was just posting this FYI in a non-offensive way.

Agreed. Calling people idiots for posting news about the band is a little rough. Especially since it's not as if the Sara/DLMDA info was something someone heard from an industry connection that was meant to remain a surprise... a band member revealed it himself on a national radio program.

I know surprises are usually more fun, & all due respect, but if it's that big a deal to you, perhaps its your own responsibility to stay off the boards and websites when the band is in rehearsal.

This is NEWS that was broadcast on the radio. Of course it's going to be posted all over the place.

I can understand the reasoning behind all the Spoiler stuff - and I don't take any offence to someone pointing out what rules are generally used... But at what point does it NOT become a spoiler at the end of the tour when everyone that could possibly have read the board has seen the show for themselves? And on what information is Spoiler applied too?

Say you are going to the very last show of this leg... And you still want to be surprised when you get there on what they are going to play. Do we still put spoiler in the threads ALL SUMMER LONG? It doesn't jive. Everything could be a spoiler when you think about it.

I don't have a problem putting "Spoiler" in a thread I start, that's not a big deal. I just would like more clarification on what exactly is a spoiler? Is is just applied to a few details.. All new details on the band. And at what point is it not a spoiler during an on-going tour.
