Has anyone ever gone to a show alone??? With the possible 2 shows in NY (hoping for the garden) and the one in CT I don't think I could find enough friends/family who will shell out the cash to see them over and over, so I might go it alone....if you have gone solo was it fun?
Also, since there have been better seats opening up closer to the concert date, does one snatch them up the first day or hold out until a week or so before? I of course would fear there would be no tickets left, and would then spend eternity kicking myself, but I am torn.....any thoughts? |

I go all over the country alone to see shows. Sure, sometimes my friends or husband accompany me, but a lot I go alone - and I dont mind. Heck, I love music. THAT is my passion!
I had a great time alone on Saturday at the FM show. I met Pattie who was lovely & nice. I also introed myself to the people to my right. I always talk it up... and you know, once the music goes everyone is into the band, so you will be ok. They dont take a set break so once the music starts, it goes till the end. Just take your seat... talk if youd like say hello... and once the music starts just enjoy the show!I recommend you go! Im going alone tonight, on Saturday and also flying to Phoenix on Monday solo. PS - while its never guaranteed, I have had great luck scoring excellent seats at the last moment for this FM tour.

well I was at the show in Jersey with my brother who was bemoaning the fact that Christine wasn't there.....he prefers her to Stevie and he only likes her songs so I guess it was close to being alone....

I have gone alone before. It is not as fun as hgoing with someone. But, I am very gregarious and, therefore, am not alone for long!!!!!!!!!!! Also, I probably will be going to the first NY show depending where it is in the city. So, we can always hook up before that if you want, etc. I will know more later as specifics are announced.

Sarahw...I might be going it alone too...my friends are huge Mac fans but have money issues, while I would NOT care if I maxed out my credit card getting tix. I plan on going to B-port, NYC, Boston...I'm from CT too, BTW.

Oh yea... I usually go alone. For me, I find there are some awkward moments. Like when I first get there. Most people are with somebody. Once the music starts and the lights go down, everything is cool. I've also found most people at Mac and Nicks shows are quite friendly and easy to talk to. Afterwards is kinda weird, because I'm all excited and wound up. So I have to hurry home and post on the boards. On the way home, I always play the current album so I can keep the magic going. Overall, it's still waaaaayy better than not going and living with the regret. That's been my experience. Heck, now I'm to the point I feel awful if I don't see more than one show per tour. LOL!!
Go and have fun!! ~Laura~ |

Forgot to answer your second question about tickets...
I was recently been bitten by the front row bug when I bought from a scalper for a different group. So for the Mac show(s), I bought "safety tickets" and will try for better closer to show time. I also plan on checking out who has what at the venues just before the shows. (Advance broker/scalper tickets are outrageous for most of the Mac shows.) I've never tried for last minute tickets before, so can't say how well it works. I've gotten last minute tickets to Tom Petty and ended up in nosebleeds. Was still fun, tho. Good luck! ~Laura~ |

I went alone for the Detroit show and then I went with my mom for the ones in Grand Rapids and Chicago, but I didn't sit with her. I wanted to get the best seat possible. Anyway...I had a BLAST at all 3 shows. I don't know anyone who is at all as close to my obsession for the band so I always go it alone

golddustchic...i went to both the Detroit and Grand Rapids show too!!! they were awesome! are you going to the next Detroit show??? Anyways...i would definitly go by myself to a show. I think it would be fun...plus you can get whatever seats you want and spend as much money on them as you want and you don't have to worry about another person not wanting to spend that much Jen

I plan on going to the CT show... I'm not going alone, but with my boyfriend. But I would LOVE to meet fellow Ledgies at the show. :-D I lived in Milford CT for 93-94ish with my parents. I'm gonna be driving from the south shore of MA (its quite a haul) and would love to hang out with people before the show... maybe a get together could be arranged?
Anyways.. I'm going to stop babbling like an idiot... :-D I would go to a show alone, because I dont care what people think, and tend to talk to the people around me, no matter if they think I'm odd or not! |
