Although I've seen interviews from their short time in Japan in 1990, I don't think I've ever seen a second of footage from their interviews and appearances in Japan from 1977 or 1980. The 1980 tour of Japan was their most extensive so it seems like a lost treasure trove of material. Surely that "Town Five" appearance exists on tape somewhere in the world??? It looks like a bit of silliness with Christine acting impish and lots of smiles.

Have you not seen these before? People have edited it many different ways, but all together it's about 3 hours worth of footage.

I read Walkman price circa 1979 was 33,000 yen. That was $150, which would be $650 today.

And shame on that magazine for confusing John with Mick.

When this was published, we all wondered how Chris broke her arm and thought it was amazing that she played the East Asian shows with her arm in a cast. (Probably makes it easier to do the glissando on Don't Stop—instead of using your thumbnail, which hurts, you can use your hard cast.)
