Default Stevie Heartbreak Song needed

Okay, so I have this best friend. He's got a key to my place and often comes over when I'm not there because he likes to meet me when I get home, or he watches basketball and uses the internet because he doesn't have cable or internet at the place he lives in. And that's fine, I don't mind. But I just found out tonight that he's been using my apartment to have sex in! I'm absolutely heartbroken. I feel so betrayed and angry. I need a Stevie song that fits how I'm feeling but I can't think of any. (I've been basking in the greatness of IYD and my brain is all Annabel Lee and Moonlight. So I need a good Stevie angry and betrayed song. What do you guys think?

First, eww, and sorry that that happened to you

As for the song, I'd go for Silver Springs or Fall from Grace.

Maybe we should extend this out to non-Stevie songs. How about a lyric from Jill Sobule's Good Person Inside

i know everyone's a good person inside
everyone wants to be loved inside
so whenever i think what a dick what a liar
i try to remember the good things inside

Aw, that's a Pamala Stanley song! My fellow Dallasite recorded it first in 1984 and had a huge gay dance hit with it!!!

Stevie: "Love Is Like A River" is pure unbridled anger and sarcasm!!!!!!

And your friend would snap back at you: "Well, I think you're uptight, lady!"

And you'd go: "Well, that's just what I wanted to hear..."

Interesting... I never knew this! I did know a Canadian band named Toronto originally recorded "What About Love", but I guess it ended up not being included on one of their albums... that one you can find on iTunes I believe.

Hmmm.. Pamala Stanley also did a dance-pop cover of "Rhiannon"... here's a clip:

I don't like that dance version, this is an angry song & Heart nailed it with their version!

This is PERFECT! No, I don't have romantic feelings for him. But we're very close. I always jokingly call him my non-sexual boyfriend because we do everything together, we even cuddle on the couch when watching tv, we've slept in the same bed. People think we're boyfriends but there's no sexual attraction from either of us. We're just really good friends. That's why this is so devastating. I don't have any hangups about sex. In fact, had he called and asked if he could I would have probably heaved a heavy sigh and said, "oh go ahead, just make sure you clean up afterwards!" Even if he had told me after he did it I would have been a bit angry but then forgotten all about it. But it was the fact that he did it and then didn't tell me. Now I can't trust him anymore. What else has he done behind my back that he's not telling me? In my own apartment? So I won't hold a grudge and we'll still be friends but now there will always be that wall of distrust. It'll never be the same.

Thing is... time was... part of me used to love you part of me still does... this light here. Some become strangers.

I almost forgot, thank you all for your replies. You've all given me a much needed smile today.

And louielouie2000, Behind The Mask was never my favorite FM album, but I think I need to revisit it. There were three songs I liked when I first heard it and I never listened to the rest of it again. I'll totally have to revisit it. Freedom is a kick ass song. Thanks of reintroducing me to it.

People have already mentioned the best Stevie songs-- there's one I don't see, and it might not totally fit your situation. It's the lyrics to Dreams. Maybe one day he will remember what he had . . . and what he lost in the friendship he once had with you. Women? Ah--they will come and they will go.

Now here you go again
You say you want your freedom
Well who am I to keep you down
It's only right that you should
Play the way you feel it
But listen carefully to the sound
Of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat...drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering what you had
And what you lost...
And what you had...
And what you lost

Thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Say...Women...they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean...you'll know

Now here I go again, I see the crystal visions
I keep my visions to myself
It's only me
Who wants to wrap around your dreams and...
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
Dreams of loneliness...
Like a heartbeat...drives you mad...
In the stillness of remembering what you had...
And what you lost
What you had...
And what you lost

Thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Say...Women...they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean...you'll know

Pamala's original version of "If Looks Could Kill".

In 1986, I was just learning about my gay musical heritage, and I saw this 12" in a new friend's records, and was SHOCKED that Heart's version was NOT the first! My friend Marco had had the record since 1984.

Here's Pamala on TV:

Of course, Ann's crazy vocals DO sound amazing as well...

I LOVE Pamala's "Rhiannon" as well! "Taken by... Taken by the NIGHT!!!"

"Rhiannon" is available on Amazon ~ support my fellow Dallasite!

That's my only complaint about IYD. There are no great angry Stevie songs. The closest is WSS. Those were always some of my favorites (How Still My Love, Stand Back, Smile at You, Freedom, Long Way to Go, etc.).

BTW..I meant the ending of How Still My Love. Same for Silver Springs.
