Default B-Side of Silver Springs from Go Your Own Way single

I was relistening to some of those Rumours demos for the first time in a while and I'd forgotten about this version of Silver Springs. Does anyone know if this is the B-Side version that was on the Go Your Own Way single? I'd always read that the B-Side version was different than the one that ended up on the expanded version of Rumours, but had never actually heard the B-Side.

This version of Silver Springs is stripped down some and actually much more similar to the version they recorded for The Dance. Most noticeable is that Stevie's vocals are different and it has Lindsey finger picking on guitar rather than using a volume pedal to get the pedal steel type of sound found on the expanded Rumours version. Christine's orchestral sounding synth thing is missing from the end as well.

Is this the same one that was released on Crystal Visions, or was it the one from expanded Rumours?

Neither. It's the "Rumours Are Rampant" demo that's been out there for years now.

Does anyone have a copy of the GYOW B-side version of Silver Springs? A lot of people have said that they like it more than the expanded Rumours version, but I dunno if anyone has ever ripped it from the record to mp3 format.

I know that the single version was released on something, but I forget which one it is? I think it is 'The Chain' version, but I'm not 100% sure...it might also be the version that was released on the "Very Best Of" discs. I am pretty sure I have a rip of the actual single version, but I would have to upload it...I will see if I can find it, and if I do, upload it and maybe someone can figure it out...

It's easy to miss on the studio version, but listen carefully during the last minute and a half or so. Behind the rest of the instrumentation and vocals it builds up. I'll upload the instrumental version when I get home later.

I'm looking forward to it. I hear only a tone-wheel organ & a piano.

Ah, I never heard that before. Thanks for uploading the instrumental. It's clear right at the point you cite. I bet it's the ARP String Ensemble, with studio photos from the "Rumours" album.

Chris kept one in her stage rig in those days, too. It's the thing on top.
