I was checking the Dark Night website, the movie will be released in few days. The pics of the Joker really scares.. Seems Ledger did a gret performance. Unfortunately we don't have him anymore.. Hope the whole movie is great, too.

I was reading some early reviews this morning. They were very positive. That photo of Heath Ledger is just plain creepy.

This movie has four things going for it that Batman Begins didn't:
1. It's not an origin story, so we don't have to sit through 1 1/2 hours of Bruce Wayne's brooding before he does some actual bat****. 2. I actually recognize the bad guy, and Gads, Ledger looks frickin' scary as the Joker. Seriously, did any casual fans know who the hell Scarecrow was, or Ru'Wafo Nafou or whoever it was that was played by Liam Neeson? ![]() 3. This movie actually looks serious and complex, as Batman was intended to be. I mean, Begins was "sorta" serious, but in the end it just resorted to the old "hero and villain fighting each other on a train" cliche. 4. No Katie Holmes this time. I've seen scratching posts with more charisma than her character in Begins. |

I wasn't sure if Batman was always intended to be serious, dark, but I think I read it started that way, and had different phases (science fiction, pop art, funny, etc).. Obviuously the dark, little remorse over killing or maiming criminals, is the most exciting..

PS...to answer someone's earlier question...yes, I knew who the Scarecrow was. He was a really cool villain on the Batman Animated Series from the early 90s. And Ra's Al Ghul has been around for quite some time too, he was just never a major player, or that popular.

I loved Heath and I don't know if I can go see this although I kind of feel like as a fan I really should. We'll see. Is it true there is video somewhere of Nicholson hearing about Heath's death by a reporter and saying, "I warned him."?
On edit, it is true. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,325208,00.html On edit again, I recall Brad Pitt had a lot of trouble playing Louis (Interview with the Vampire) because the character was so brooding and the film was shot in the dark.

Yet another reason he was miscast. The film would have been so much better without him. He brings the film down.

A Knight's Tale is $5 at Target right now. I saw the HUUUGE Dark Night billboard with Heath on it in Time's Square Sat which was incredibly eerie and sad. I have to go see the film as a fan. And bring tissues.

I went last night to watch this movie. It is awesome!! I liked a loot.. !!! and th joker was not the only bad guy, there was another known villain.. Ledger does a great performance.. the whole movie is good..
Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are also a great addition to the movie, very good performances, they are such great actors!! ![]() |

Bale = boring of course (his voice is so irritating when he's Batman...he could learn a few things from Keaton) And yes...the "other" villain was done extremely well. It's just as much a joy as seeing Ledger's Joker.

Not a fan of the current Batman franchise (After Clooney stunk it up I lost interest - Only Batman movie I enjoy now is the campy 1966 Adam West "Batman" movie), but maybe its just me but for some reason, even before Heath Ledger passed I thought his makeup was in an eerie similarity to Brandon Lee's "Eric Draven" (Of 'the Crow') - and both passed during or immediately after those portrayals.
![]() Going to go see HellBoy II instead!!! I like the independent comic book character's moreso than the mainstream: Hellboy, SiP (Strangers in Paradise - There was talk of a SiP movie awhile back - But I doubt HollyWEIRD would understand the story of a love triangle between 2 ladies and a dude), Death (She's such a cool babe) and The Crow (My brother met "The Crow" creator James O'Barr - Said he was a 'different' dude than one would expect...My bro has an estimated 150,000 comic books at his house)
