I don't expect anyone to respond to this. Been getting into The Who and was watching THEIR "Live in Boston". Before the Quadraphenia part, Pete talked about what music meant to them growing up, blah blah blah... and during that, Roger remained respectful, looked out at the audience, let Pete talk. Does anyone have the FM bootleg from Landover, MD circa 1997? I'm thinking it was "Dreams" and Lindsey, while Stevie sings, is having a great time with the audience. I love Lindsey and I thought that was cool...yeh...Lindsey, blowing kisses...making contact with the audience...you're the man! But after watching The Who... how crappy that looks. For Beatles fans, Zak Starkey, Ringo's son, now plays drums for The Who. Anyway, just my perspective.

Here's my perspective: Lindsey and Stevie wouldn't front a band called "Fleetwood Mac" if John & Mick were to pass away before them. |

Depends on what era of Fleetwood Mac. During the Harold the Dildo/beer & milk condom days, I'd have to give the Who the edge on classy.

In the late 1980's, did Fleetwood Mac tour without Lindsey? And they were Fleetwood Mac. Roger and Pete are nothing like Lindsey and Stevie. My point was Roger had more class than Lindsey...

I hate to say it but I'd have to say The Who. It depends what classy means though really.

Does anybody else find this discussion a little pointless?

It's kind of odd. I never considered the Who as exemplifying class. Fleetwood Mac, yes, somewhat -- like the "sweaty elegance" of PM Magazine -- relative to most arena rock bands of that era. Certainly more nowadays, what with pop tarts in bikinis & all that.

I thought that was the whole point of the chit chat thing. YOU find ths discussion pointless, but I'd like to discuss it. And it wasn't comparing instances over 30 years, but rather FM in 1997 and The Who in 2004. I'm sorry I bothered to post. It won't happen again.

I love the music of The Who. However by class compared to Fm, Mick and co. win hands down. You were never in any danger in the front row of a FM concert from being hit by a splintered guitar or drum. It was part of Pete's charm to destroy instruments on stage by bashing them to bits.

No, but at a Fleetwood Mac show you are in danger though of being hit by Mick's sweat. *shudders at the memory* Far worse. ![]() Last edited by trackaghost; 01-19-2008 at 02:53 PM.. |
