"How I wish, how I wish you were here." I like Creep a lot but nothing beats sitting in your chair and hearing "Welcome to the machine!"

Oh my. Well, Radiohead does have a number of songs that I think are pretty great ("Fake Plastic Trees," "High And Dry" and "Paranoid Android" among them), but I never did jump on their bandwagon. I always thought "Creep" was one of their lesser songs, and they lost me completely with the Kid A stuff.

At the same time, Pink Floyd has a number of songs that I truly despise ("Welcome to the Machine" and about half of The Wall among them - yeah, I get it, Roger, you think you're a scary robot, that's great, it sucks). Still, most of their early 70s stuff is really great, and very few albums by anybody match the sheer brilliance and cultural importance of Dark Side of the Moon. So Floyd it is.

Of course they are both too depressive and slow for me.

You're listening to the wrong songs from each of them.

Pink Floyd, no contest, and I'm even more convinced after their performance at Live 8.

I find both bands a bit too out there for me. That having been said, I'll say Radiohead, if only because of a funny moment at a Guided By Voices concert. Before the band starts playing, Bob Pollard, drunk (and probably stoned) off his ass starts talking into the mic about how they're the fourth best band. He said:

"We are the fourth best band. The best band is Pearl Jam. The second best band is Radiohead. The third best band is REM. We're the fourth best band. **** you Foo Fighters, we're number four!"
