The Telegraph (a British broadsheet) ran an article last week (Saturday - apologies for being so slow at putting it on the site) about the earnings of 'veteran' bands called 'I know it's only rock'n'roll but I like the money'. Of FM it says:
"A tour by Fleetwood Mac made the band £17.4 million. They initially had a per-concert guarantee of £400,000, but after weak ticket sales in some towns, members, according to the magazine [Rolling Stone], gave the promoter, Artist Entertainment Group, 20 extra dates to help the comany make up for lost profits. Their concerts still grossed £36 million in America alone." Nice work if you can get it! Angela x |
