Has anyone else heard it? It's AWESOME!!! I think the song sounds great this way. The vocals are a bit rushed, but I think the thunder really adds to the song. The background music is really brought out and up to the forefront. I love it!

I've heard it, and like you I think it's great! I like the faster pace - I think the album Illume drags. It's right there with Silver Girl and my least favorite skip-songs.

I just realized: they didn't speed up the vocals, they sped up the music! God, this is great!

This is a KICK ASS mix of Illume!!! I wish THIS version had been on SYW...must more upbeat...maybe Stevie didn't put this one on because the song is meant to be reflective of the sadness of 9/11 and felt that the slower one was better? The faster version goes along with the panic that everyone felt and the frenzy of trying to find some safety and answers...
Thanks for posting the link! EDIT: You think they used Lindsey's rain room for that one? ![]()

I really like this version of the song! This is coming from someone who voted for Illume on survivor! This is a much better version than the album version IMO. Thanks for the link!

you don't have to be a professional to speed up vocals without "squeeking" it, look this mp3 is nothing but the song, sped up a little, with some thunder effects added. an unprofessional can make a track like this at home in about 15 minutes.

It's a little jarring at first to hear such a harrowing song in a dance context, and yet it works.
The remix is not going to replace the album version for me, but it's definitely pretty incredible. Now, if only someone would remix "Silver Girl"!!! I still (perhaps stubbornly) insist that that song would be far more effective in an uptempo environment.

It's great to get alternative mixes like this. But I must be too used to the original. I don't think this song should not be so, um, danceable. But if it has others who didn't really like Illume before listening appreciating it, great!

Whoever did this mix (is this official?) finally succeeded in turning the song into a complete caricature. Bravo.
