1 - Tusk, the quantity, variation, and quality of the tracks makes it a shoo-in for first place
2 - Rumours, 'cause what other album would be in this spot, after Tusk? 3 - Tango, My first Fleetwood Mac album as a teen, and even with the weak/flawed/debatable presence by Stevie, this is still a solid listen from start to finish, landing it in third place. 4 - Fleetwood Mac, many good songs, but everyone feels trepidatious, so as not to overtly peacock in front of the others. 5 - Mirage, the opposite of the previous album - strutting about, this album sounds like a collection of soloists. Great songs from each member when considered individually, but they don't seem to have anything in common album-wise. The songs on Tango sound like they were made to be together, and conversely, the songs on Mirage sound like they were made to stand apart, and so as a fan of the band most when they sound like a band, Mirage is fifth on my list. Fifth favorite.

Wow this is really hard especially since each one is so different. But here it goes
Rumours - best overall effort - flawless Tusk - best adventurous non-commercial effort Mirage - best classic Fleetwood Mac soft rock gem Fleetwood Mac - amazing first studio album such diversity Tango in the Night - not bad for 80's pop .Too much computer programing and non-instruments for me to love. I love pop music of the 80's but hated when rock bands adopted the current 80's sync sound with drum machines. But still love half the songs. Last edited by Macfan4life; 10-05-2014 at 05:55 PM.. |

i know i'm repeating myself, but it always fascinates me how much love there seems to be in FM community for Tusk while at the same time so much hate for SYW, which in my mind (as well as some rock critics' i've heard) is in so many ways a very similar album. for me it's: Tusk>>>Rumours>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>FM/Mirage/Tango

Tusk Rumours Fleetwood Mac Mirage TITN... I LOVE Say You Will. I think it's underrated and think it's mostly very high quality and consistent to my ears. I love the variety of tone and style on it, and I don't miss Christine's presence or songs, though I know many do.

Rumours
Tango In The Night Tusk Say You Will Fleetwood Mac Mirage I know SYW wasn't an option but that's where I'd place it Love most of that album. I love the fact that this tour has so many Tango songs, Christine really was at the top of her game on this album and it's only a shame that Isn't It Midnight isn't there too. The fact that only Gypsy is being played from Mirage sums up what a lot of people seem to think about that album, (although I would love to have seen Hold Me for sure). Here in the UK, Mirage just seemed to sink without a trace almost - Gypsy was a minor hit but that was it. Rumours and Tango were both massive however and you still hear songs from those albums on the radio quite a bit. Last edited by Dragonfly; 10-06-2014 at 06:31 PM.. |
