For what it's worth, "Say Goodbye" is in an open Gb (and in 2013 down to open F) tuning that LB doesn't carry on any of his current tour guitars. The guitars are setup and optimized for the specific tuning that they're holding (given that many of LB's tunings are custom and have varying degrees of string tension that need to be accounted for).

I wouldn't want someone to retune one of my touring guitars on the fly, only for it to come out of tune mid performance. FM is simply not the kind of band that is ok with "winging it," and that perfectionistic vision is what allows the band to sound so incredible even into their late 60s and early 70s.

Wow, seriously? Why would a guitar tuned right before it's played fall out tune any more quickly than one that was tune two or three songs ago? In fact, you would want the guitar to be tuned and checked right before it's handed back to the player. I don't even get your comment. Lindsey switches guitars at the end of almost every song, and they are handed to the tech who retunes them every time. What am I missing here?

Well, you could see that Marty was heavily involved. He probably talked to sick Mick before he talked to the others. Steve too. Steve not only plays but he gives Mick water and towels and he probably was the first to know when Mick couldn't go on. We saw the 4 on stage, but Mick, Marty and Steve may have consulted backstage too, allowing Mick to be as involved in the decision as anyone.

Pinnacle Bank Arena -- I’m still waiting for Fleetwood Mac to return -- as Stevie Nicks promised from the stage -- after the legendary rock group cut its January show short when drummer Mick Fleetwood became ill. I’m also waiting for the arena to make it right, too. I wasn’t expecting any kind of refund, but a complimentary concession item redeemed from my ticket that night or at another concert/athletic event would have gone a long way from a public relations standpoint.

Yes I feel bad for that audience. Not a great point on the tour. Though in their late 60s things like that are bound to happen from time to time.

I had a look at Madonna's current shows, and they are visually very impressive. She is in great shape. But I've read some horrendous stories about how late she often starts. Regularly 2-3 hours late on weeknights when people have to go to work the next day and may not be able to get transport after midnight. The seats aren't cheap either.

Reading those reviews totally put me off. I don't know if the shows are technically too ambitious, whether she takes longer these days to get prepared, or what.

The majority of the tour seemed to go very well for FM considering it was a three hour show, packed schedule that had even more dates added along the way. But I can understand that audience felt short changed and they should have been able to fill in with a substitute drummer for a bit longer, or had a contigency plan.
