FM's life on the road 2013

I was just noticing that there seems to be no information about the bands life on the road yet.

Where are / were they staying?
How do they travel?
Has anyone met them besides Mick's meet and greets?
Did anything noteworthy happen besides the concerts?
etc...

This would be the place for sharing information about that matter.

I remember reading Corey Buckingham's blogs from the Say You Will Tour...I am wondering if she is touring with them now...she had some great insights/stories to share with the fanz....

I wonder how similar to the Tusk tour is this (and the Unleashed). Probably not that fancy extravaganza and excesses, but sure enough luxury to be comfort on their "style" but also make good revenue anyway. Mick's book about Tusk:

Each band member had his/her own limo. Even Dashut and Grant had their own limo on this tour, as befitted their exalted responsibilities of son et lumiere. Our contracts with promoters carried an exhaustive refreshment rider, specifying in minute detail what kind of food and drink we required backstage. It was on this tour that Fleetwood Mac acquired its image of being a de lure organisation; yet it was a reputation we cultivated without apology, and it was true that whenever possible, we went first-class all the way.

We spent a fortune on the road, running a fat ship. We decided to be comfortable, and we lost control. If Stevie wanted a hotel suite painted pink with a white piano in it, what are you gonna do? Say no? You can't do that in a Holiday Inn! Pink rooms and pianos cost real money. These were my decisions, because they had to be. There was no management company as a buffer between me and the band. To complain about anything, as musicians love to do, they had to address a band member me. People were honest with their feelings under this system, but they didn't like complaining about money. Even so, early in the tour I tried to change to cheaper hotels. All the others complained and I said the hell with it. From then on we went first-notch. We had everything.

I was reading a Christine interview and she was asked about Judy Wong. She said that that was Mick's secretary and when Mick stopped being in charge of everything then Judy no longer had a place. There was no central office. Everyone had their own separate staff after that and managers and assistants who competed with each other to protect their own person's interest.

That's right, Mick told so in his book too.

About Judy, I don't know her latest role in the band, but they dedicated the Tango album to her (when probably she wasn't working with them anymore).

Stevie had an assistant as early as Mirage. When they were recording in France she had Debbie Alsbury and after her came Rebecca Alvarez. I'm not sure who it was after Rebecca. She left in the late 80's and started working for Joan Rivers. She only accompanied Stevie on the overseas tours (I have no idea why her assistant, whoever that was, couldn't travel with Stevie). I guess after her, Karen became her assistant. Chris had an assistant too back in the late 70's early 80's named Chris Kable.

i'm pretty sure karen's sister (who's name i can't recall) worked for stevie after rebecca.

Stars of stage and screen have been spotted in Malmesbury this week.

Suranne Jones, who is best known for playing Karen McDonald in Coronation Street and DC Rachel Bailey in detective drama Scott and Bailey, has been seen in the town during breaks from filming at Charlton House this week.

Fleetwood Mac fan Chris White, a library assistant, was on the bus in to work in Malmesbury on Monday when she spotted band member Mick Fleetwood.

“As the bus was coming up the High Street I thought I could see Mick Fleetwood by the Market Cross,” she said.

“I got off in Cross Hayes and ran back up the high street to find him, but I realised that all I had on me was my cheque book.

“I saw him and asked him if he would sign the book. You would recognise him anywhere. It made my day.”

Mrs White has been a fan of Fleetwood Mac since the 1970s and already had tickets to see them perform at the O2 in London last night.

TV drama star Suranne Jones is currently filming alongside Oona Chaplin and Hermione Norris as a nurse on the frontline for costume drama The Ark.
