Brandi Carlile's "The Chain"

I just heard Brandi Carlile's studio version of "The Chain." On first listen, it sounds great. She has a tremendous voice, and the band stuck very close to the original arrangement. I like it when bands take cover songs in a new direction, but there is nothing wrong with keeping to the original arrangement so long as it's done well.

It got me thinking that whoever produces Brandi, who is one of my favorite artists, should produced the next FM record. I'd like to hear that organic, raw quality in FM's music. It would be a welcome change from the studio tricks that have started to get old.
