Default Saskatoon Reviews, Photos, etc.

Who's going? I am; fifth row, baby.

I won't be surprised if I'm the only one going from here.

If you're a fan of Fleetwood Mac and you want to go to their upcoming concert in Saskatoon, you'd better act quickly.

Scott Ford, the Marketing Director at Credit Union Centre, says tickets went on sale Friday morning and they're about 85 per cent sold.

Ford says if tickets to the band's show on June 5th don't sell out Friday, he expects them to be gone within a week.

"My recommendation is, if anybody's interested, buy your tickets as soon as possible," Ford says.

Tickets range in price from $50 to $170.

I'm back! I took a couple hundred pictures, but I'll have to upload them tomorrow (actually today as it's past 12) when we get back home.

We got there shortly before 7 and had to wait in a huge car lineup FOREVER. We got inside sometime after 7. Actually getting to our seats took a long time; there were people standing around drinking, being annoying. After we got to our seats, mom asked one of the security guards if I could go up and take pictures at the stage. I WANTED her to ask if I could stay up there for the entire show. After waiting until shortly before eight (when it was to start), I went up to a different guy and asked if I could stay up there for the whole show. He said, "Go up there, girlie!" I was completely surprised and thanked him and told him he was awesome.

The actual show didn't start until after 8:10. By the time it started, there was quite a few people standing at the stage. I was in the "front row" of the stage, directly in front of Lindsey's microphone. More people came up closer to show time.

The show itself was AWESOME. Lindsey was energetic as usual, Stevie sounded better than I thought she would, and I couldn't really see John and Mick because of this big speaker thing in front of me. They played really well and the crowd was equally awesome. The people standing up front near me sung along, cheered a lot, and screamed random things. Near the beginning, I yelled, "I love you, Lindsey!" and he looked at me, raised his eyebrows and sort of laughed. Later I said the same thing about John and people started laughing. Closer to the end, I said, "Gift of Screws was awesome!" and Lindsey laughed and I said, "Well, it was!" Some guy standing behind me was yelling things like "LINDSEY! THAT'S MY BOY!" etc. I didn't hear anyone say anything about Stevie, but most people took pictures of her.

Lindsey played a lot of his solos standing literally half a foot away from me, so I think I got some good pictures. My hands were really shaky and I didn't have flash, so most of the pictures were super blurry. I took a few video clips and only filmed Second Hand News in its entirety.

Near the beginning, when Stevie was going "Hello Saskatoon!", she started yelling something and getting real excited; unfortunately I didn't get that on film. She smiled quite a bit and held out some awesome notes (near the end of GDW, for example), and talked about Gypsy, when she and Lindsey were in Fritz, and Storms, which she called "Always Been a Storm".

A guy beside me got a few high fives from Lindsey, a girl behind me got a guitar pick, and the lady beside me got the setlist. I still think it's awesome that he heard what I said and laughed. Lindsey did most of his GYOW solo in between him and Stevie, so people around there got to play his guitar. Oh, and a lady behind me got Lindsey to sign her Dance DVD. As far as I know, that was the only thing he signed.

Regarding Mick's drum solo, people got into it. "ARE YOU STILL WITH ME?" "YEAAHHHH!" They did their full encore.

As we were leaving, I found two dollars on the ground. So all in all, I think it was an excellent night.

Oh Moz, it sounded like a great show.

Of course, you abandoned your poor mother, but I'm sure you're forgiven.

I laughed when the guard said, "go up there girlie." He sounds like he thought he was in a 1930s flick.

Your interaction with Lindsey was a hoot. As far as the fan items go, he must've seen everything by now. In Anaheim someone gave him green and white cups that were shaped like cactuses. I think they were for Stevie. I guess they were for her tea or something, but he just put them on the drum kit. He is very accommodating.

I hope John heard when you said, "I love you John."

Sounds like you had a terrific time and then you found $2 to cap everything off. Doesn't get better than that. Can't wait to see your pictures.

Michele, I was right behind this girl, I let her stand in front of me cause she was short LOL. She did try to give the (I thought they were candle's?) to Stevie but Stevie said "I'm sorry but I cant bend over!!" Her and Lindsey had alot of eye contact, so I said to her, man he really likes you!! She told me she was a drummer and had played for him before, or something to that effect. I'm hoping she is a member here or 7W??? Because of her I got alot of Lindsey eye contact!!

Rick, Oh, you're probably right that they were candles. That makes more sense. I laugh trying to picture Stevie bending down to get those. She'd have to do somewhat of a juggling act on top of everything else. I wonder where the woman had worked with Lindsey before. That's interesting.

Actuall what she said was she had auditioned for him before, and that she was "this close".....She asked me, who you here to see, I said Stevie, she said Lindsey! He did actknowledge her several times. She has to be a member here or somewhere close by! Short blonde chick with long weavy hair??

That's awesome! I'm glad that they made it up to SK! When the date was announced, you're the first person I thought of.

Do you think you can make it to either of the Alberta makeup dates too?

Actually, she came up a few minutes before the show started, saying, "I'll only stay for the first few songs..." and she ended up staying for the entire thing.

I hope he heard too! (And those cactus cups sounds awesome!)

Me too! At the end, Lindsey said he'll come here "next time". I wish I could make it to one of the Alberta shows, but I doubt it. AFAIK the Calgary show is sold out.

Other things: Stevie was wearing the frankenboks for at least two songs. I don't know if she changed into her boots for a few songs because I could only see her from the waist up. While she was twirling during Stand Back, I was staring at Lindsey the entire time (he was mouthing the words), so I didn't get a picture of her.

During Mick's drum solo, Lindsey went to the side of the stage and laid down. Got a picture of that, too.

At the end, Mick told us to "love one another".
