Lindsey's Heritage?

OK, so I'm more of a Stevie fan, but I have a Lindsey question. Of what origin is he? Because I had my friend, who is a Tom Petty fan, listen to Walls, and he was like "Woah, the dude on backup has a totaly Scottish accent!" And I was like.... is Lindsey Scottish? I figured someone here would know.

The name Buckingham certainly has an English ring to it, so perhaps his family roots can be found there.

But he was born and raised in California. I don't think that's a Scottish accent you're hearing.
