"Tango in the Night" for me. I have heard ISA too many times
![]() The guitar solo at the end of "Doing What I Can" is pretty fierce, but thats a solo song, and Lindsey's guitar at the end of "Isn't it Midnight" is awesome as well, but thats a Christine song... |

Tango in the Night is a shorter solo and really is just an extension of what he does in I'm So Afraid. You can't really compare them all THAT much...maybe if he'd done Tango live..?

ISA is the greatest song EVAH.
![]() Tango is greatness though. I also love the Doing What I Can and Isn't It Midnight solos. ![]()

i was thinking "come" might fit in here
i acutally noticed some spots that sound a lot like ISA - but if you can't rip yourself off then who can you??? and also the solo at the end of eyes of the world is kickin but is it an anthem?? - and as to the original question - im going ISA by quite a few lengths but then im comparing the live solos (ISA) to the studio (tango) so once again - ![]() |

Since we're going with the theme of "vaguely identical solos", you HAVE to include "Murrow Turning Over In His Grave", too.

Hahaha, very true!
But Tango and I'm So Afraid? Don't make me choose! Oh God, if only he'd done it live.... |

Quote:
What about "Come"? Not really the same sort of mood as the others, but it certainly follows the same format as Tango with quiet verses, loud chorus and then a massive guitar solo at the end. And "This Is The Time" as well, since it's got almost exactly the same song structure as Tango, right down to the quiet "pre-solo interlude". EDIT: Forgot to answer the original question. I go with ISA, though I love both. ISA is just an awesome solo, no matter what version I've heard. The studio one is killer and the lives ones are even better IMO. Always full of passion and angst. Since we are talking about anthems, I personally think that "Go Your Own Way" is known as his guitar anthem, then maybe "I'm So Afraid" or "Big Love," instead of "Tango in the Night." So since the two choices were "Tango in the Night" and "I'm So Afraid," I'm going with "I'm So Afraid."

I voted Tango because I'm so Afraid for me has become one of three songs in the live set where you can go for a beer/wee (or both)
IMO it's past its sell by date Gail |

I voted ISA because it's great and theres is no TITN live. We need a live version for a fair compare. And yes, I'm tired of ISA too, but it's great anyway. I always wished TITN live in the last tours, Lindsey HELLOOO!!!!

I'm So Afraid.
Love the Tango In The Night solo but the album from which it comes suffers from dated production and the weakest Stevie Nicks songs ever. |

Great question. I was with golddustwoman77 tho and my first thought was the signature playing on "Go Your Own Way".
As much as I like his solos, at times the high-pitched lengthy ones get to be a bit much. I couldl probably count on one hand the times I"ve listened to "I'm So Afraid" and "Murrow Turning Over in His Grave" to completion. Great tunes... just more guitar solo than I prefer. (okay... I'm a drummer... you gotta understand! )So would it be sacrilege to say how much I love his work on "Oh Well" live?? ![]()
