Default Taste of Buffalo

One of the highlights of my summer every year. Ours is the second largest in the U.S., second only to Chicago.

http://www.tasteofbuffalo.com/

I am ridiculously full after gorging today with a friend. We split most stuff, each had 2 beers. We spent about $40 between us total.

Here's the rundown:

Cajun chicken strips with jack blue cream sauce *** (the sauce was bland, but the chicken was good & spicy)

Buffalo wing burger ** (a bit dull - I mean, it was spicy, but it was basically a burger with hot pepper cheddar cheese & blue cheese dressing on it)

Artichokes gratinee *** (a bit more cheese would have made this a 4 star)

Shrimp & artichokes in sambuca cream sauce **** (very interesting combo, and the sambuca didn't overpower other flavors at all)

Crab rangoon *** (good, but nothing special)

Thai marinated flank steak w/sweet & sour slaw **** (the marinade was really good, kind of sweet. the steak was so tender.)

Sauteed asian tiger shrimp w/ smoked bacon salsa ***** (my fave of the day. tasted just like it sounds)

Chocolate dipped pineapple macaroon ***** (very original, very big, very fantastic)

Smile cookie *** (had to spend my last 2 tickets - good soft chexy moist cookie. with a smiley face.)

Grand Marinier chocolate covered strawberries ***** (sweet jeebus, these were good.)

Do they have "Taste of" things where you guys live? Was it Rickypt who gave us his list of foods last time? Jyqm? I can't recall. Anyway, if you've never been to one, I highly recommend it. And if anyone ever wants to visit Buffalo, I highly recommend you come the weekend after 4th of July, that's when it's always held.

Well, it's official. I've started one too many threads about food & you've all had enough. Well, before I go I just want you to know that I have pie today. And it was great.

That's what I figured until I read the list of food you ate.

Whatev. Maybe I won't be staying with you if I make it to Cali, you'll probably make me eat good healthy food.

Seriously, that's the fun of it. Eating stuff you wouldn't normally eat. It's a treat, an opportunity to try new things. I don't eat like that every day (well, except for the beer )

Ah food (slurp). I think that buffalo wing burger would've been better breaded and fried with buffalo sauce on it. I know, really decadent, but that's the way to do it IMO!
