Default A thought about the summer shows..

With all the talk about Stevie's Vegas setlist and how she played it safe with alot of the stuff she did there, don't you guys think it is highly likely that she will change it quite a bit over the summer tour?? I can completely understand her not wanting to do any rare songs in Las Vegas and pretty much stick to the hits... I think she knew alot of the people who were going to get tickets for those shows were probably not huge fans, but know her by her FM hits and her solo hits... so she played it safe...

but since she's going out on the road this summer and since she's not promoting anything at all, wouldn't it seem like a good probability she'll do a tour much like "Enchanted" in '98?? I think we may all be in for a surprise this summer... Again, she's not promoting anything... so, this tour could very well be a tour for her true fans and she may do some rare stuff that she hasn't done... what do you guys think?

I've been wondering this as well. I'm debating on whether or not I want to go the show here in Philly. I saw FM 3 times on the SYW tour, and I saw Stevie solo in 98 for the Enchanted tour-my first concert ever!!
I'd LOVE to see her solo again but I dont have the money to blow and only want to go if she changes up the setlist some. The show is opening night too so I wont be able to get an idea of what the setlist will be. What to do...

My guess is that what she played in Vegas IS her summer setlist too. Simply add Leather and Lace and MAYBE The Highwayman. I'd be really suprised if they performed that one though. Wouldn't it be a hoot though it they did the old Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrel hit 'It Takes Two' like they did at the (someone help me here) Arizona Heart Institue benefit or was it the Walden Woods benefit.

Im guessing IAF will be dropped since its kind of considered a "Lori" song. And since shes not going on tour, I bet its gone, and Im also betting those wonderful BATB performances were 4 time thing and will also be gone. HAEWAFY will make its unfortunute return and knock BATB. I also think she'll come to her senses and drop Landslide. I think Leather and Lace will replace Landslide.

I don't doubt that it will be much like the Enchanted setlist...only an abridged version. For the shows she's doing with Don, I would assume either Leather and Lace and or The Highwayman to be included. JMO.

I can also understand why she played the hits. What I don't understand...actually it truly baffles me...is why she continues to perform over and over songs that aren't hits, like Enchanted, Outside The Rain, I Need To Know. Looks like Fall From Grace is joining that group of songs as well.

I like all of those songs, except INTK, but it simply baffles me that she won't trade them for something different. They don't play to the casual fans; they don't even know them. I'll bet most diehards like me would be thrilled to see them go in exchange for something we've never heard live.

To answer the thread question, though, I don't think she will do anything different for this summer tour. The opportunity for her to do that was in Vegas. I think the setlist for the shows with Henley will be an abbreviated version of Vegas, namely eliminating all the semi-surprises like IAF, BATB, HSML. The non-Henley shows might get those songs back.

i'm hoping she'll do something similar to what she did during 'enchanted 98' hearing garbo and sleeping angel was amazing...i would love it if she pulled out nightbird, blue lamp, nothing ever changes, bella donna and illume (though i doubt she'll ever perform this live) or better yet, just turn the whole thing into an 'unplugged concert'

so it's just a wish...

I think she will nervously go: "I have to please all the Don Henley fans that came here tonight as well" - which means we will get a Greatest Hits-setlist. I do hope that she will include "How Still My Love" and "Beauty and the Beast", but I have my doubts.

I'm just glad I got to see her on the Enchanted tour where she really did do something different. Her 4 days in Vegas showed that we will most likely never see a setlist like the Enchanted one ever again...

I think the only song that may stay in the set from Vegas that is rare could be HSML. I do not think we will get anything new or different and I do not think she is touring to promote the Greatest Hits either. When you tour to promote an album, such as SYW or a GH..there is some organization to it. There is none to the summer shows....IMHO..we are going to get the same ole set. Bet ya!

I think Beauty And The Beast will stay in the set.. i predict it will replace HAEWAFY for the rest of the tour... she got too good of a reception for her to just keep it as a Vegas thing...
