Default Bonus CD/"Not Make Believe": Worth it?

I'm hearing a lot of talk about the song "Not Make Believe." Is it worth picking up the limited edition to have this song? Some are saying it should have been included on the album.

Interested in hearing a response and overall views of the quality of the bonus disc/limited edition pressing.

Thanks.

I think so because although I am not crazy for Not Make Believe - I like LB's cover of Dylan's song and the live version of Say You Will.

It's worth buying the limited edition for the packaging, the poster, and the Dylan cover. I most certainly wouldn't buy it for Not Make Believe. It's quite possibly the worst song I've ever heard. "I Like Big Butts" is a better song, IMO. It sounds like it isn't even finished, like they knocked it out in demo form. Plus, the lyrics are AWFUL. But it has okay vocals.

LMAO!!!

Interesting point of view there, I happened to like Not Make Believe and it sounds finished to me Some of the lyrics are so-so, but I think overall it is a good song.
The live versions of Peacekeeper and Say you will are nice to have plus the packaging is very nice so I would say that yes, it is worth it if you have a few extra bucks to spare. However, the poster is crap...

I didn't care for it much when I first heard it (too contemporary sounding), though thevocals are great. I got the urge to listen to it again a couple of times in the car today. I like the chorus. It's one of those songs like "Straight Back" that sound a little off on 1st hearing, but it stays in your mind & grows on you until you can appreciate its funkiness.
Like I said, the magic is in the vcals, not the lyrics.

I love Not Make Believe! But I can not believe that people like the packaging on the SYW limited edition. I hated it! I spilt a drop of water on it and the entire thing turned into this wet cardboard mess, so I went out and got the regular version. Then I just put the album artowrk in a 2 cd case and viola!

But about Not Make Believe, I think you either love it or you hate it. My mom, and she never says anything about my music, said "I've got to tell you- I really don't care for this song!" I was like

I know, that song rocks.

Not Make Believe on the other hand? Uggggggggggh. The sounds of a public restroom are more pleasing to these ears.

C'mon, Joe, bring it on!

I would've rather have heard "Not Make Believe" on the Say You Will album itself...in place of "Silver Girl", that's for SURE!!

Plus, I think they just should've released the original 2-disc Say You Will as it was initially intended, instead of only a 4 bonus song thing...a waste of a second disc, I think.

But, anyway, it all comes down to if you think the risk of liking "Not Make Believe" & "Love Minus Zero/No Limit" are worth the extra $10...I don't count the two extra versions of "Peacekeeper" & "Say You Will" as "bonus tracks"...just seems redundant to me.

Agreed on all points, except for Silver Girl.

It's grown on me...like a fungus.

I for one would not recommend shelling out the extra money for the bonus disc. The packaging seems nice at first but it is really VERY cheap. I hardly ever listen to the bonus discs....the live versions are bland, and I really don't like the two bonus tracks. I agree with ChiliD....A waste of a bonus disc, and NOT worth the money!

I think the packaging is pretty poor, considering you're supposed to get something more with a limited edition and all you get is a brown wrapper-type thing and a poster with very small uninteresting clips of the band in the recording studio. I like the regular cover (which is inside the limited edition) better.

As far as the songs, the live covers are uninspiring, but Lindsey doing Dylan is definitely worth owning. "Not Make Believe" is not great, not even as good as "Silver Girl" (which except for a few silly lyrics, I can't fathom why so many posters on e-boards hate). But "NMB" is definitely not as bad as dissention says (rest room noises!!) This is NOT to start a fight, but to dissention: I wonder why you use a photo of Stevie in your posts when you seem to strongly dislike a lot of her songs. Just wondering, why not use a Lindsey photo or something else?
