I voted for Brown Eyes but didn't expect really expect it to be in the lead! My goodness. I was under the impression that general fan opinion of that song was mixed-negative. This is a twist.

Also I voted for Never Make Me Cry, because I think it's amazing even if it doesn't stand a chance.

And I voted for Think About Me because duh.

I don't know if I said it before, but Brown Eyes is maybe the best Christine's song. But I repeat, Maybe!!!
Think About Me is powerful and nice, and Over & Over is better live, if we're talking about both versions. But I suppose that if I voted for it, my vote went to the studio and live versions, and it's alright!!!!!!
For the rest, nothing to say...
Regards and thanks!!

I love Never Make Me Cry. Have you heard the piano demo of this tune?

I haven't! I shall have to look it up. But it's actually the very light, nearly absent instrumentation that makes the final track so special to me. With NMMC and Brown Eyes, this album really saw some different and fresh things from Christine, who seems inclined more often than not to stick with a particular musical formula. Even if you find the end result lacklustre, you have to love Tusk for that.

The piano demo is pretty sparse too. I love it just as much. If I find it, I'll PM it to you.

Yeah, it kinda shocked me back in Sept 2010 during the favorite Mac song contest as Brown Eyes won for Favorite Christine song from Tusk.

...but got killed by Sara in the Tusk finals....

..didn't fair that well when put up against Christine's favorites from the other albums.

Personally, I have a hard time thinking of any of Christine's Tusk songs as best and definitive Christine.

IMO Brown Eyes is the best song Chris wrote for Tusk and NMMC should have been thrown in the ocean.

I wouldn't be able to choose between these two. They are equal in my mind.

Well, I believe the legal phrase is "tough cookies".

Never Forget looks poised to maybe make the cut. Can I just come clean and admit that I actually have no idea how that song even goes? Not one of her more memorable works, to these ears. Interesting choice.

ETA: I'm listening to it again to refresh... Yeah, no. I skip this one.

I'm going with Think About Me since it was the hit single and Over and Over as I like it very much.

Still got a day left for voting....

I actually like all four Mirage tracks better than any of the Tusk ones. I think there is at least one 'best of' for B & Ns on Tusk, but none for Christine.
