Mystery Show w/ Mick's Zoo and SN at Maryvale Mall (80s)

Hey gang,

I wondered if anyone has more information, or can at least, confirm this show as described in this YouTube comment. If not, that's okay too -- I hope you enjoy reading this account!

It seems that the Maryvale Mall in Glendale was where this happened...

"Ok every one help me solve this Fleetwood Mac mystery.. A friend showed up at my house early one day in the mid 1980s (I think) and said get dressed up. He said he heard on the radio that Fleetwood Mac was going to play an unofficial show for 7 dollars at the door in the old Mary ale Mall building across the street from my apt. Basically Glendale Az.
I thought it was a joke but it was true. What I recall was a few hundred of us going crazy for this legendary band that had put a small stage up in what I think was the old JC Penney store. They had these new guys on guitar. Something about Mic Fleetwood and the zoo just popped into my head. We watched them jam but after a while I started calling out for Stevie Nicks and managed to get the whole crowed chanting her name. (Not cool! Now that I consider that they may have been trying to do some new project... I am sorry Mic. Please don't throw drum sticks at me but yeah I led that little mob) after a while it got a bit aggressive and they said she was on her way. And asked us not to continue toward chaos and please enjoy this music until she arrived. And she did. And she soothed us savages. The whole thing was kind of weird and awkward for sure for the band. I was starting something akin to a riot. Any way It would be good for my sanity if someone besides myself knows anything about this event. Even if the band prefer to forget it. It is still part of the bands history. And I would love to know the back story to why the were giving at a mall in the early afternoon at some closed up mall in Maryvale Az.

Sometimes I think It was a dream because no one knows what I'm talking about but I know I saw the band up close enough to see that they were kind of afraid of us for bit( Again so sorry. It was a an ugly way for us to be. It's almost like the crowd held the band hostage and Stevie paid the random. The more I think on it the worse I feel. It must have made them feel like **** and I'm sure they just wanted to get away from us. The exact opposite of how it should be.) But the show went on and they gave us what we demanded. And we gave them our worst. I almost wish it was just a dream. But I know it was real and if they remember it I can bet they wanted to forget it. So anyway if any one knows about this show. Idea like to know. And if anyone knows the band, well they were great and they certainly didn't deserve the bull**** way we acted. We were terrorists not fans that day. I never realized how they must have felt until right now. Maybe that's why it keeps coming up in my mind. . . I lean on these artists many times in my life. They show us their belly's. And we we did the worst thing to them that day and I really am sorry."

Someone just posted a mid 80s photo of Stevie with the Zoo. I wonder if the photo was from this gig. I just cant remember which thread but its very recent. It was mid 80s before Tango and rehab and even RAL.

Correct if I am wrong but I think it would be impossible that Fleetwood Mac had played an unofficial concert that cheap. But The Zoo yes, they would have done it.
