Post Rumors Tour Question
Can someone confirm for me whether at anytime Chris did any shows with FM sans Stevie??? Someone says she say them perform with Billy, Rick, Mick, John, and Christine in 95.

I think there was a Superbowl party or something, that they did sans Stevie.

And here it is...
From youtube, Say You Love Me 1993, after Rick and Stevie left FM, but Rick did this song as a favor(f you will) to Billy, so its Christine, Rick, Billy, and of course Mick and John.

So does anyone know why Chris did this show as she was retired at the time?

I'm sure the Mac experts will have a better answer, but I believe that Christine wasn't really retired, that came after the Dance in 1998. Although after BTM in 1990, she did retire from touring.

It was right after the Clinton inauguration. For Lindsey and Stevie, that was a one-off. Christine was still a non-touring member of the band, and this was just a performance, not a tour.

I LOVE that video, and can't believe that I've never seen it. Chris and Rick(who the camera people seemed to focus on) both look fantastic. Mick looks a little awkward...like he was in transition from young Mick, to old Mick(more than just the hair).

Even some guests sat in...if I recall, it was country guitar virtuoso Albert Lee and the infamous Gary Busey sat in on a number or two toward the end of the set. (I recall seeing a still photo from the show and a YouTube video, too.)

Does anyone know why Rick & Billy left? I can't imagine the band was like:"Lindsey is coming back so you're fired".

Billy left in '93 to focus on his country music and to do some acting. He was back with the band within 18 months or so. By the time Mick broke up Fleetwood Mac in early 1996, Bekka and Billy had already moved to Nashville and were planning their country album. Christine had quit the band and Lindsey decided to have Mick on his solo record, so I think Mick thought it would be easier to break the 1994-95 band up than do everything to keep Fleetwood Mac together. Ironically, that lead to "The Dance."

Thanks, SteveMacD. I never knew why Rick & Billy left. The whole nineties period was kind of odd if you ask me.

Though never performed live, Christine's cover song 'Roll With Me Henry" is practically a Fleetwood Mac song sans Stevie, with Mick, Rick, Billy, John and Christine.
