What with all the talk about scumbag bootleggers lately
, I'm curious to know what everyone's favorite boots are. Least fave too.I love Mac Memphis 82. I think it's mainly because it was one of the first boots I got. Nice sound, good setlist. I also really like several Tusk shows - one of the Japan ones especially (I can't think of date & city off hand). As for SYW, I listen to Hershey a lot (it's a great show, plus I was there )I am not a fan of most of the TITN or BTM boots - I don't like the setlists that much. Also - most of The Dance boots are so-so - they all sound too similar (with the obvious exception of SS in AC.)As for Stevie, I love Us Fest 83 & Woodstock 98. Great shows, great sound, great setlists. Also - Ohio State Fair 1994 - awesome vocals! I don't listen to many from the RAL Tour. TOSOTM & Timespace - eh. A few good shows, but most seem too cold & mechanical - just going through the motions. I listened to "Pretty Mac Goes Metal" the other day & I used to think the vocal was incredible. I still think it's strong, but it's like she's a tad out of tune or something .I KNOW we'll have several different opinions here, so let's hear them! I'm interested to read what everyone has to say. |

I'm kind of with you on the TITN boots, since they pretty much always have "Oh Well" and I don't really like the way they did it then.
But anyway, I really like Nashville, '77, though there isn't much competition because I don't have a whole lot of boots at this point. I have more demos, masters, and remixes right now, it seems. |

I like the just below the knee 3 inch maroon velvet boots the best...

Stevie:
House of Blues 1994. This show just flat out rocks! Mac: tough call, probably Melbourne 1980 for the fun "echo" on Sara. And have I mentioned the amazing wail at the 7:00 mark? A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

I like most of them.
The one I :hate: is Stevie's PTM show - New Year's Eve '99. Her vocals are horrid. She cant even remember the words!?!! Drunk much? That damn person in the crowd with the tambo doesn't help it much. ![]()

Well, actually I DO like the 87/88 tour & 90 tour bootlegs BECAUSE of the set list...so there ya go...another case of "to each their own.
Faves, in no particular order (as of now, off the top of my head...I've downloaded so many in the past couple of weeks, I don't remember which are which): The First concert 1967 Live In Koblenz 1988 Live In Chicago 1995 Live At Great Woods 1990 Live In Vienna 1990 Who's The New Girl? 1975(aka Trod Nossel or Smiling Ears or Live In Wallingford, CT) Will The Real Fleetwood Mac Please Stand Up? 1974 Live In Hempstead, NY 1974 Live At The Carousel Ballroom 1968 Live At The Fillmore West 1970 Live In New Haven, CT 1975 (aka Live In Passaic, NJ 1975) Live At The US Festival 1982 Live In Oakland 1982 Live In New Orleans 1970 (both Jan 30th & 31st) Homeward Bound 1972 (aka Live In Seattle 1972) Live In Los Angeles 1977(I WAS THERE! Plus, it was MY cassette tape that started this, and the SD one below, in circulation!) Live In San Diego 1977 (Again, I WAS THERE) Sin City '77 (aka Live In Las Vegas 1977) Music City '77 (aka Live In Nashville 1977) Live In Oklahoma City 1977 Live In Anaheim 2003 (July 17th...and, yet again, I WAS THERE!) There are more, but these are as of right now. EDIT: The above are on CD (or CDR)...the first FMac bootleg I ever owned was an LP called Merely A Portmanteau, side one of which was "officially" released as most of Disc two of the Showbiz Blues set ("Rattlesnake Shake/Underway", "Tiger", "Green Manalishi"). Side two was completely taken up by "Station Man" (almost 8 minutes) & "Tell Me All The Things You Do" (13+ minutes) from the Kiln House tour. Quite the disparate sound quality between side one & side two...side one: great, side two: YIKES! ![]()

Favorite SN performance: Los Angeles 10-02-83 Favorite SN sound quality: Los Angeles forgot-the-date but it's the Universal Amphitheatre show from 2001. Sounds fantastic. Unfortunately, it's a 2001 tour show, which makes it dubious. So I also have to nominate the Los Angeles 7-14-94 tape, a super-duper recording by someone with the right equipment. Favorite FM performance: Osaka 12-04-77, Los Angeles 8-31-80, Detroit 9-19-82, Irvine 10-18-82 Favorite FM sound quality: St. Louis 11-06-79 |
