Question Possibly No Tacoma show???

Does anyone have any info on this? Someone sent me an email with the following and asked if I knew anything (I don't know since I don't live ANYWHERE near Seattle/Tacoma...lol!!! I thought someone who lived in the area would have the info...):

"Saturday, July 26 Tacoma, WA Tacoma Dome: The Promoter has changed this presale date. Because Tacoma is no longer on the official list, it is possible there will no longer be a show in Tacoma."

I don't know but I am flipping my lid! I went to Ticketmaster.com this afternoon to make sure I was still registered with them and see what their site says: nothing! So I call Ticketmaster & when I finally get through the guy says, " I don't know anything about that show". I am adament and insist on talking to someone else. After being on hold for forever another guy gets on the line and says, "I've heard that there have been problems with the FMac presale but I have no other information" and then hangs up on me. I call back but it is just after 5 pm so no more humans to talk to. (Is the Knight moonlighting @ Ticketmaster? Have I now been banned from Ticketmaster, too?)
Then an e-mail from the fan club saying they are not sure about the Seattle show so Seattle fans might want to buy Portland tickets(?!?). Thanks for waiting till the evening before the presale to surprise me, fanclub! So what now, I buy Portland tickets (not knowing what time my friend is flying in that day & risk not making it to Portland in time...especially if the flight is late or something) or wait, only to find out: no Seattle show? By the time I would find that out, there wouldn't be any good Portland seats left.
LEDGIES: PLEASE TAKE PART IN MY POLL..................
If you were me, would you:
A) Consult the nearest Magic 8 Ball, or...
B) Brand your forehead with "666" because you know that by buying into the fanclub, you had sold your soul to the Devil?

Apparently, the Tacoma show is still scheduled. According to a reliable source over on Mick's board, this is just the fanclub's way of trying to get more people to buy for the Portland show since they don't expect it to sell that well.

I know its a stretch for the imagination. But, yes, there is one reliable poster there.

Hmmm-I suspected this might be the case. I wonder how many people have joined the fan club and what percentage of the total ticket sales for any given venue are from fanclub presales. I mean, if there are concerns about Portland's sales: ARE THEY REALLY GONNA GET A FULL HOUSE BY TRICKING ALL THE SEATTLE FANCLUB MEMBERS INTO DRIVING TO PORTLAND?
Who could they trick into coming to Seattle if it doesn't sell because everyone went to Portland?

Oh why am I NOT surprised by this move?!?! Bet you anything, after a week or two Tacoma/Seattle will be back...I can't imagine them not touring there...

I think I'll go over to 'other' board and express myself...at the risk of being banned...Ooooh...perish the thought...I could care less right now!!!!

Gee, the fan club being manipulative? The shows not selling well?

How many people joined the fanclub? That would depend on who you ask. The FM community has a VERY different opinion than the one stated by the representative of the fanclub, but then again, we know how much his word about anything means.

As for tricking the fans, it "may" be a ploy to trick fans in general, not just the club members. If you were an ordinary fan who was planning on attending the show and found out it was cancelled, you'd want to see it someplace else if you could. IMO this really doesn't have anything to do with the fanclub, even though the 'tricking fans' part is very familiar to the fanclub members and all too fresh in "everyone's" memory.

Deleting a few thousand posts every few days isn't going to erase their content from anyone's memory anytime soon. Did anyone happen to notice that over 4000 posts disappeared from that BB between Sunday and Monday? That number is in ADDITION to the thousands of posts that were deleted before Sunday. Now, why would they feel a need to keep whitewashing that site?

I highly doubt they would skip Seattle altogether. I'm not going to start panicking yet.

I totally agree Sara...I doubt they'll let Seattle slip by...it just seems like a pretty rotten thing to do on such sort notice...I still haven't seen any 'decent' tickets for Portland up on eBay yet...makes me wonder if the 'public' will have a better shot than the 'paying fans'...hmmm...the mind wonders...

The whitewash goes way beyond the removal of posts. There's a lot more going on. I was told threads now exists to justify everything including the bannings, the censorship and can you believe it... even the topic of "administrator" access to system resources! People have tried to spin that one to be a "no biggie" even while admitting how it brings tremendous power to admins. When someone questioned if this meant access to personal info and ability to hack people and such, nobody ever answered that. Somebody just posted that such posts are uncalled for. Why all of a sudden is there a thread about this topic at all over there? Why try to explain something unless you know you have some 'splainin' to do?
