Default Mirage To Finally Be REMASTERED In 2011

I just happen to run across this on wikipedia. does anyone know anything about this???

A new Remastered & Expanded version of Mirage is due for release in mid-2011 by Rhino/Warner Music Group. CD 1 will be the original album remastered and CD 2 will feature bonus material taken from the Mirage era, such as B-sides and outtakes. A track listing for this release has not yet been announced

Um, we're officially about 2 months beyond the mid-2011 point, and have yet to see any official press release or word from the FM camp regarding this. Wish it were true, but wikipedia is not by any means an official or reliable source. Mirage & Tango were supposably gonna be re-mastered next, after the white album, Rumours & Tusk, but Warners/Rhino & the band seemed to have lost incentive.

And Christine is gonna record 3 new tracks for it....

....and if you believe that, everyone stand on their head.

Every single time this "news" pops up again I get excited... I guess I'll never learn.

I don't know why Fleetwood Mac doesn't remaster their old videos like Gypsy and Big Love. They were huge hits and remastered, widescreen versions of those videos could bring back some play for them... then a remaster of Mirage and Tango would be more than warranted.

I thought this sounded familiar so I checked back and found this thread from earlier this year. If this remastering isn't true, then it needs to be removed from the wiki article.

Probably no truth to it. Technically anybody could've written that blurb.

Because they have other fish to fry, I guess.

I Agree, It's odd that Fleetwood Mac has never released any compilation of all their video's. Even Stevie put out 2 music video compilations (I Can't Wait: The Music Video Collection (VHS) (1986) & Crystal Visions Video DVD (2007).

A great time to have done this would have been with "The Chain" box set & coffee table book, or when "The Very Best of FM" was released in 2002 I suspect the novelty & demand of releasing such a collection has died off.

Like it or not, they'll never touch them (despite their being "huge hits") because they're not songs from the Rumours album.

Well, if anyone recalls, Warner Bros Special Products had announced that they were going to remaster/remix/add bonus tracks and re-release the ENTIRE Fleetwood Mac Warner/Reprise catalogue. We got Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, & Tusk...then the project was backburnered, then eventually canceled.

Would they actually make any more money on yet another Rumours re-issue than they would on a re-issue of Mirage or Tango in the Night?

I wish there was a way for a fan to just clean these tracks up himself (including the "unreleased" stuff) and we could just burn our own CDs if we wanted. Illegal, yes, but we'd buy it if they'd sell it to us legally.

Where's Ken Caillat?

Wow, everytime I hear about this, a little piece of me gets excited. But I guess I'll believe it when/if it's official.

That has been on the Wiki page for a while, I remember reading it many months ago. Sadly, I don't think it's true.
