I absolutely love side three. Two of my top ten FM songs are on it (IKINW and TEFM), two of my five favorite Christine songs are on it (BE and NMMC), and Angel is also one of my favorite Stevie songs (although I prefer the live version).

Side four is definitely my least favorite side. I'm not a big fan of HH or NF, BC is my least favorite of Stevie's songs on Tusk, and WATL probably ranks towards the bottom of Lindsey's songs on Tusk for me. Tusk is the highlight for side four for me.

It's harder for me to choose a second favorite side. Ultimately, I think I'd have to go with side two. Side one had The Ledge, which is another of my top ten FM songs, but the other songs are more middle of the pack songs for me. Side two has Storms, which is my third favorite Stevie song, and SOTM, which is another favorite of hers for me. I've come to appreciate WMYTYTO more. TAFE is middle of the pack for me, as is NTF, although I love the Mirage performance of it.

So hard.

If you put Sara, Sisters of the Moon, I Know I'm Not Wrong, Tusk and Over and Over. that would win..

I'm glad they came out with cd's. All the sides have hits and misses. Very choppy.
I'd go with side 1. My only beef is that Over and Over sounds way better on the live cd. Still a good and pleasant song.
Christine doesn't even have a song on 2 or I'd vote for that one. Tusk is the only great song on side 4, the rest are just ok. Not bad, not great.
What was on side 3 again? I can't see it as I type

On my iPod play list I take one if the two slow song Christne has back to back and move it forward to I guess side 2. I also included Farmers Daughter from the deluxe as album closer.

Default I wouldn't say it reigns "supreme"

but side 1 of my vinyl copy gets more play than the others.. sometimes, I put it on the turntable and listen to it over and over...

Its Sophie's choice times 2

Could not pick so I guess I have to die

The gems of this album are scattered on each side Over and Over, Sara then Storms, then Brown Eyes, Never make me cry and then Honey Hi, Beautiful Child, and Never forget.

I don't think I could live with a Tusk album without any of those gems.

It was an epic battle between Side 1 & Side 4, but I eventually settled on Side 1. I love all the songs on both sides- and I love the way the album opens with Side 1 and closes with Side 4. I went for Side 1 because I think I love those songs just a hair more.

Sides 1, 2 and 3 all have something I'm not fussed about.
Side 4 is consistently terrific and contains some of FM's most underrated songs.
Walk A Thin Line hardly ever seems to get mentioned.
Never Forget- what a perfect way to end the/any album.

I agree with everything you said, especially regarding Walk A Thin Line. I feel it's one of the most beautiful FM songs Lindsey ever wrote. I think it simply gets lost in the chaotic sprawl that is Tusk; and perhaps that was intentional.

This one wasn't that tough. Side 2 was an easy choice for me. Not a weak song on that side.

How great was Stevie's contribution to this album. Every song is terrific.
