Favourite Lindsey song from Tusk

What is your favourite Lindsey song from Tusk?

His creative masterpiece, mine is That's All For Everyone, I love the rhythm and the vocals.

Up there would also be The Ledge and Save Me A Place.

What's everyone else's?

Absolutely Tusk itself. It's tribal at the beginning and then it's like a circus joins in the end.

I don't think Lindsey was completely successful with his songs for Tusk. None reaches the brilliance of Stevie's songs or the complexity of Christine's (see Brown Eyes and Honey Hi). But when you listen to the album as a whole, I think the songs become more essential to the sound of the album...many just don't stand out on their own. My favorites though are Tusk, What Makes You Think You're the One, and The Ledge, in that order.

"I Know I'm Not Wrong" is my favorite Lindsey song on Tusk. In fact it's my second favorite Mac song behind "Hold Me". I like all of his songs on the album, but "That's All for Everyone"; "Not That Funny" and "Walk a Thin Line" aren't up to the standards of his others.

Walk a Thin Line. I honestly like all of Lindsey's Tusk songs except for That's Enough For Me.

I'm probably in the minority, but Stevie's songs as a whole(even though I loved Sara, Storms and SOTM) weren't the highlight of Tusk for me originally. I was a Stevie fan first when I initially heard the album, but it was Lindsey and Christine's songs that made me love Tusk.

I feel that Lindsey's songs stand out for the very reasons you feel that they don't.

Stevie and Christine, for the most part, stayed within the boundaries of their styles. Lindsey deliberately wanted to break the mold and not fall into a Rumours II mode. He found his muse with the punk/new-wave movement that was happening at that time. He shed his hippie fro and kimono a for a new-wave haircut and suit that signaled those influences.

Like many people, striking difference was unexpected, confusing and not very appealing. I had a hard time understanding/accepting the odd, weird rawness of his songs. It took a over a decade to warm up to them and understand their importance on the the album.

With a 21st Century perspective, it's clear Lindsey was more progressive than anyone was prepared for. His brilliance was just misunderstood. The Tusk album now has a new-found prestige, respect and appreciation. Because of his songs as well as his production, the album has aged well. I wouldn't want it to be any different.

Aside from Tusk, my favorites are The Ledge, I Know I'm Not Wrong, That's All For Everyone and Walk A Thin Line.

I love That's All For Everyone....so creative, such amazing harmonies..

Love The Ledge and Walk A Thin Line too.

I've come to appreciate Save Me A Place, but the only song I don't like is That's enough For me...the screaming! I like every song on Tusk except for that one.

Ditto.. What a great version of this classic Tusk song. I haven't seen the band yet this tour (Halloween is my date) but I'm loving that "I Know I'm Not Wrong" is in the setlist - my second favorite track from Tusk, as I simply adore and worship "Save Me A Place". Nice thread.. some Lindsey love.
