Default The Little Observations Thread

Hey All:

I thought it would be a cool idea to have a thread where we discuss little nuances in songs that we take note of and love... or DON'T love. It can either be in Live performance, or on record or in demos.

I'll start us off. I've always loved this live version of Sara for some reason from 2004. The thing that I REALLY have always loved is the guitar solo at the end that starts at 6:26.

Something really reflective about it that I can't place. But it's amazing!!

Yes! I love that guitar solo, as well. I noticed how beautiful the first time I heard it at Unleashed; If they insist on doing Sara again, I hope it as dreamy as this version. Classically done, IMO.

My little nuance is the opening chords/keys to Silver Springs (97) sounds very much like the opening to Wish You Were Here.

I love the part of Some Become Stranger where she screaches "I don't really need this in my life"

I couldn't make it through the whole video. I couldn't get past the hair. What was she thinking!?

I think the hair is cute. It's reminiscent of the Tusk bun.

I couldn't get past the outfit.... makes her look big as a house (I know she was mimicking the red cape from the Tusk tour, but dear gawd it looked like she had the bulk of 27 black capes under it.... ) Reminded me of Mary from Peter,Paul and Mary in her older years. Not good.

That guitarpart is totally gorgeous. It's a pitty that we had to wait 6.20 minutes for it. Therefore, the solo is way too short...

I remember when I was younger and first got the Mirage album, I would put it on, and when "Wish You Were Here" started, I'd ask my parents what song it was to see if they knew. Of course they both guessed Silver Springs!!

Nice!

Good to see us "wild and crazy kids" introducing FM to our parents! LOL

this reminds me of playing the Dance for my Mom, she really loves SYLM, but really couldn't tell me anything about FM, Dreams, GYOW, etc.
