Favorite book about Fleetwood Mac

This poll makes more sense to people who have read all books about FM bio, but everybody is welcome to vote.

And I know there are more books about Fleetwood Mac, many of them not so "official", but as I remember these books of the poll were commented several times in The Ledge. So let's see which one is the favorite.

I probably like Mick's better, BUT think CAH's is from an outsiders point of view, and I feel far more revealing(of course neither book is 100% truthful).

Each book appeals to a different side of the palette... Ken's book is probably the most accurate, Carol Ann's is by far the most entertaining, and Mick's is probably the most encompassing. I have Bob Brunning's book somewhere, but I don't recall it being able to keep my attention. If I could only read one of these books ever again, it's probably be Carol Ann's. It's just enjoyable to read, and is the one that really gives you the feeling that you're peeking behind the curtain.

Mick's. love reading funny little episodes in it, like driving around in the beat up cars on FM 1975 tour, with the windows rolled down and music blasting, loud.

I didn't vote b/c I have only read Mick's and am 1/2 way through Making Rumours.

I will say this however, I agree with Mick's little episodes. When he is describing driving up to Sound City with the girls in the back seat {and groceries flying out the back window of the station wagon (my envision, not Micks)} up and around the curvy LA streets.

The tale is described so vividly, I can hear the opening horns to "Heroes" play. I have always thought that a book that can hold my attention and make me visualize the scene would make a great movie.

I can't agree more! That episode of Mick finding L&S is great. Probably with the help of Stephen Davis, and maybe with an emotional touch that mixes reality with a bit of a made-up story, he wrote it so cool. But who cares, as Robert Downey Jr. said in Chaplin movie: But the truth is so boring, George!
And the way how Part I of the book ends.. it's like the final scene of a season finale:

I thought the guitar sounded great, but my attention had been caught by what I saw through the thick glass that separated Sound City's two recording studios. It was a girl, rehearsing a vocal in the next studio. A piano track was playing, and I could faintly hear her say something to the engineer about maybe wanting to have bird sounds somewhere in the mix of the song she was working on. I even remember what she was wearing a long, sort of Indiany cotton skirt and a little blouse, real pretty. In fact, I thought she was one of the loveliest and most attractive girls I'd ever seen, but I somehow managed to remain nonchalant as I blithely asked Keith Olsen, "Who's that pretty girl in there?" Her name, he said, was Stevie Nicks. End of Part I.

Sorry, friends. I have to go with Carol Ann Harris who provides a "fly on the wall" insight into The Mac's insane world. Yes, I know some have called her a liar. However, I think there's more truth to this book the we give credit for. The only part I feel that she's not being totally honest about is her brief affair with Dennis Wilson while she was still with Lindsey.

What part of the affair did you not think she was honest about?

I can't vote since I have only read Carol Ann Harris's book. It was an entertaining book, but she came across a bit delusional and she seemed to lack self awareness. That became irritating because she appeared to be holding back in some of the stories that would make her look less flattering.

I chose her book strictly for the hilarity. Some of the stories especially in regards to Stevie were hysterical. I think it ties with Mick's though for being inaccurate on facts and not being able to fully trust the content.

In part because it gave us a deeper look at the Mirage era, which tends to get glossed over.

My greatest laugh in the book was when she had Stevie trying to imply a lot from the fact that Lindsey chose a girl with the same birthday as Stevie had and CAH replied that John Wayne had that birthday too and that shut Stevie up pretty quickly.

I kind of doubt whether CAH thinks that quickly on her feet to have made that comeback, but I think it is the funniest thing in the book and I imagine the huffy look on Stevie's face as she was walking away and it cracks me up.

Other things CAH said are just stupid. Like she was wearing a see-through skirt in the wings and everyone in the audience was looking at her because she was so enticing in that see-through skirt OFFSTAGE and ignoring Stevie, who was in the spotlight. I mean, c'mon.
