Favourite songs from Time

This underappreciated Fleetwood Mac album has some of my favourite songs from Christine McVie. Sooner Or Later and Nights In Estoril are some true gems as far as I am concerned. These are my favourite tracks:

I really like Winds of Change. Overall I thought it was a good album. The Mick song was kinda cool.

Sooner or Later is one of my favorite songs by Christine! I wish it was more appreciated!!

My favorite is Blow by Blow. I could listen to it all day long.

I love "These Strange Times." I feel the emotion and authenticity of this track, paying homage not only to Peter but to the entire weird history of the band. Okay, it's not a four minute pop song that you can dance to and sing along with ... for that I select the five Christine songs, all of which I like. My faves of hers would be "Hollywood" and "Nights in Estoril," but they're all good.

I'd be curious to find out how ChiliD would edit the track order. (I've been known to do that occasionally with other albums ... there is a Kinks album called 'UK Jive' that cries out for a revised track order, for example.)

Time is so much better than Behind the Mask!

I like most of it, though I'm not sure it all coheres together. It's like three bands in one.

Of Christine's tunes, "Hollywood" and "Nights in Estoril" are my favorites. Such strong tunes, such strong performances!

"Talkin' to My Heart" and "Got it in for You" are great Billy-Bekka duets.

"Nothing Without You" and "Winds of Change" are excellent performances.

Even Mick's "These Changing Times" is intriguing.

But the Dave Mason contributions are out of place, and "Dreamin' the Dream," "I Do" and "All Over Again" are generic, weak.

I have never listened this album enough to get favorites songs, sorry. Even though it's Chris, Mick anh John there.. is like it's not Fleetwood Mac, it's another Mick's band. Sorry.

I like all of the songs, essentially, though a bit dodgy on the Mason tracks. That said: I think the exuberant Talkin' to My Heart almost perfectly encapsulates the Mac myth--making it the ideal bookend to Mick's gorgeous closer Time.

Time was a little cleaner recording than Behind The Mask most likely due to the presence of Richard Dashut once again behind the mixing board.

Greg Ladanyi's (RIP) production of BTM was pretty muddy (which was VERY out of character for his work, since he'd produced a few of Jackson Browne's albums...ironically enough, those with Rick Vito...and had gotten a really crisp, clean sound). Oddly, some of the BTM outtakes have a crisper, cleaner sound than the final mixes.
