Default Over My Head on the Midnight Special

slutcrackhore posted a clean, clear copy of Over My Head on Midnight Special:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=GGw16HvdBYs

It's from the Midnight Special DVDs. Now all we need is a clean copy of Why.

Somehow the words "clean" and "clear" and the name "slutcrackhore" don't seem to jibe together. Fabulous!!

Was Lindsey using a pick on that strat? Looks kinda like it.
Yep. He definitely is.

Weird. I would have never thought OMH would have been a pick song for him.

This is one of my absolute favorite live versions of this song. I LOVE this particualr period of that particular incarnation, when not even Ray Lindsey was backing them up. It was just the five of them, and they rocked.

Compare this to "The Dance" version, and I think you'll understand why a lot of us have been frustrated with Fleetwood Mac lately.

I like Chrissy's little brief solo figure on the B3 at the tail end. Not even really a solo, just a motive, a little Chrissyism. Nothing special in & of itself, just a little riff that snaps the ending together in that Fleetwood Mac way, like a Lego Bionicle!

I'm sorry but Stevie looks like a goof.

Love Love Love this live version of the song, though. Very nice.

lol. it's funny. this is like my favorite stevie look. she was totally smokin' during the early top hat days. she's not trying too hard to be all ~whatever she is~, she's just being a totally awesome rock chick.

These were really great! I had never seen them before for some reason. Rhiannon and World Turning were great. All I could think about when Stevie was twirling at the end of world turning was like the people in there must be like....wtf!!!

So did they just do

Over My Head
Why
Rhiannon
World Turning

???

I love it! It's Lindsey's kimono that's still a sore sight.

That's why performance wise 75-80 is my favorite era. Not that I don't absolutely love ~what Stevie did~ in the later years, but there's something to be said for the early days.

^^
ok something weird is going on there with the vocals.
Are they playing on top of the recorded version?
It really sounds to me like Chris is singing with a backing lead vox track.
Plus the little harmonics run that lindsey does on accoustic guitar is still able to be heard as well.

It sounds great and full - but i smell trickery.

Those two things struck me as well. It seems like Chris is a tad behind the backing track. At first, I thought it was just some sort of mic echo, but then it kinda appeared like the echo would happen, then she'd sing it. Not possible, lol.

And the harmonics.. they're just too clear compared to the other parts Lindsey's playing.
