I have a strange relationship with the song Edge of Seventeen.
Really. For some reason, it's the first song I can actually remember hearing. I was seven years old and was in the back seat of my Mom's station wagon, when this song about a "one-winged dove" came on the radio. I assumed it was about a one-winged dove because the singer sounded so pissed off. Anyway, one of my uncles died in early 2004. His wife and one of my aunts were with him when he died. I couldn't be with him, which annoyed me horribly. At his funeral, I sobbed the whole time. During the funeral, my brother-in-law acted emotionally distant and was back telling bad jokes ten minutes later. I felt like I was all alone and no one cared. So, flash forward 18 months, and suddenly, I'm a Fleetwood Mac fan. I'm sure everyone knows the story of the death of Stevie's uncle. The whole scenario was unpleasantly familiar, and now I can't listen to this verse without crying: Quote:
