Has anyone else here ever been? I went at the weekend and absolutely loved it! It was bloody freezing and doing an open topped bus tour of the city perhaps wasn't wise... hehe... but I thought the city was gorgeous.

Oh I would love to go there... my husband and I want to travel to England, Scotland and Wales (my ancestral homeland). My family can be traced back to the 1300's in Wales on my mother's side.

Hey Pip!

Yes.. I've been! I was there in 93' with my friends. We actually stayed in Cambridge, England, and then rented a van and drove it up to Inverness. We stayed the night in Glasgow on a Airforce Base, which was breath-taking. I think all of England and Scotland is that way, though, imo! That country-side is amazing, and I SOOO didn't look forward to hitting Houston after all of that.. LOLOL- It sounds like you had a GREAT time!! The second time I went to England, it was just to Newcastle, to be with John's Parent's, and I SOOOOO want to go back!!

My friend Mikey (from Ireland) lived there for a while before he lived in New Zealand as one of my flatmates. He loved it there, but had a hard time making sense of the accent. HA! Of all people eh? Anyway, I am planning a 10-day-UK trip in Sept '08, and Edinburgh is on my list of stops! WHoo hoo! Did you take any pics while you were there?

The Palace of Holyrood House. This is still used by the royal family. It was also the home of Mary Queen Of Scots

I've been thinking of visiting Edinburgh for a while now - you've made my mind up for me. I think I'll wait until the weather is a bit more clement! (Or maybe take my thermals with me)

Been to Edinburgh twice,it rained on both occasions.
Maybe that´s why i don´t have too great opinion about it?

Seriously,i thought it was ok,
need to see more of it though.

I´ll go back there someday,
don´t think it´ll happen in a hurry.

Next year´s travel plan:Amsterdam in june
