Thanks for sharing, The dance! Because links have a way of breaking over time, here's the story linked above:

New Fleetwood Mac social media pages have fans in a frenzy

by Connor Gotto October 15, 2024 in News

Fleetwood Mac fans are hopeful of new activity from the band after a series of new social media pages appeared online.

Over the weekend, an official Instagram account for the group was launched, with singer Stevie Nicks and drummer Mick Fleetwood among the eight followers of the page, which is currently set to private.

Additionally, a TikTok account has also appeared and, although it has no content as yet, already has almost 14,000 followers.

The Don’t Stop hitmakers last performed together in 2019 and doubt was cast over the future of the group following the death of singer, songwriter and keyboard player Christine McVie in 2022.

But that hasn’t stopped fans from sharing their excitement, with one writing on Reddit: “It would be so amazing if this amounted to something like a reunion of the remaining four.

“Has John [McVie] been coaxed out of retirement? Have Stevie and Lindsey [Buckingham] buried the hatchet? One final public tribute to Christine [McVie] and then curtains?”

“Fleetwood Mac making an official Instagram and TikTok we are cooked,” added another, while a third asked: “What the flip is about to happen?”

The appearance of the new pages coincides with Stevie’s stint as a musical guest on last weekend’s instalment of Saturday Night Live (SNL), during which she performed her new single The Lighthouse and the classic Edge Of 17.

In the past, the band’s frontwoman has ruled out a potential reunion, insisting earlier this year: “Without Christine, no can do… There is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn’t work.”

Is this the account? https://www.instagram.com/fleetwoodmac/

It appears as private. Not the best idea if you want to encourage a revival. Meanwhile, the last post in the official Facebook account is from july. Isn't that weird?

Anyway, though I'm just curious, I'm not interested in any kind of reunion.

I would be up for a sit down interview with all of them with any and all questions asked. A real, sit down, no way out interview. And then maybe a ring of coleslaw that they can all get into and wrestle. I’d pay money for that.

No way it's happening. Stevie's focused on solo work now and hates Lindsey Buckingham.

It appears that the Instagram account now only has four followers, and Lindsey Buckingham is one of them.

I don't want to feed into the frenzy "are they or aren't they", but Stevie did a sit-down with CBS Sunday Morning recently, it hasn't aired yet, but let's assume she filmed it when she was in NY for SNL. The marketing around it is "Coming Soon" with a picture of Stevie and her interviewer. I think it's the same interviewer from when she did a sit-down with them during Covid. Again, I don't want to feed into the frenzy, but why not just announce the Sunday morning it's airing. It would be a breath of fresh air from all of the political mud slinging that is usually on the news on Sunday mornings.

Makes you ponder if they are waiting to air it closer to an announcement of something?

Please, no. I suppose that there may well be hundreds of thousands of people out there willing to go to a gig with potentially just Lindsey, Stevie and Mick but I'm not sure my stomach could take it. If they were to brush up an unreleased Christine song into a final Mac track, that might be some sort of fitting closure.

I'm done. It's over. No McVies, no FM.

I'd go see Lindsey and Mick. But not if the old goat is there. F her.

If only Stevie had not been such a turd and added vocals to the BM tracks and submitted some of her own. I don’t really want a Beatles Anthology “Real Love” or “Free as a Bird” but I guess one more Christine Track would be nice wi try some good SN and LB vocals. I like a Christine better than John Lennon. She had more talent in her pinky than his whole body.

I don't like being seemingly egregious about Stevie as she has demonstrated considerable talent and undeniable star power but it's the latter that has, as you so appositely put it that has made her act like a turd, and I have to concur. I'm not so sure about the Christine/Lennon comparison, though!
