'Cept it's closer to the key of E than F,IMO. It's just a few cents off of E, considerably more off of F. Again, IMO.
That's always been a BIG source of frustration for me (as a player) with most of Lindsey's songs. He can't leave the tape speed alone , making every song deviate from standard A440 tuning. Wanna play along with Lindsey? You've gotta retune for EVERY song! Got a "locking tuning system" guitar? ARGH!!!

I actually play it in C (C -- Dm7 -- G7) so that I can sing it. I have a low singing voice.

At any rate, it's neither here nor there. As long as the original poster has the chord progression in any key, he can transpose it to his heart's content.

But the capo can't change the fact that the tape speed's altered, changing the tuning from A440. When I learned most of Lindsey's songs, I only had an electric guitar with a locking nut, making retuning for each song a ROYAL PITA!

David, I've never played it with the Fmaj7. I always use just the F because that is the way it is transcribed on the Tusk book. I'm going to try your way, especially since Fmaj7 is one of my favorite chords.

At any rate, it's neither here nor there. As long as the original poster has the chord progression in any key, he can transpose it to his heart's content.

Assuming he's not a beginner, he'll understand that. But, if he's asking chords for a 3 or 4 chord song, he probably is a beginner. It's especially important if you're trying to play along with the recording.

I was in the fron trow right at soundstage. I almost S_it my pants when he played this as a request. Watching his masterfuls hands I was able to determine the the following:

F (on first fret barred) C
"Dont know why I have to go..."
Bflat C F
"Dont know why I can't play...."

He played it non capo, and simplistic. The sone looked like 6 chords tops. All you Turner Model 1 dudes out there try give it a try and finish this number for me!!!

But their fans can be as stubborn as mules.

The above chord progression is unquestionably wrong. If Lindsey did indeed play those chords at the Soundstage show, it seems safe to say that he has forgotten his own song.
