I found this startling quote from Lindsey. Wouldn't that be amazing if they actually cowrote the next Fleetwood Mac album?? The pessimist in me says it will never happen. But then again...
Buckingham: "I've built a studio in my new house, and I'd love for Stevie and myself to sit down and do some stuff from the ground up with two-part harmonies. If we had one complaint about this album, it's that we used a lot of older material, and a lot of mine was set in stone. Co-writing would be interesting. We've never done that."

Well, stranger things have happened (uhm, Lindsey & Stevie actually being back in Fleetwood Mac, for one!), so anything is possible... and it's definitely something I'd be all for.
The most effective way I can see that kind of collaboration working, is if Stevie wrote lyrics to music Lindsey has written... and then they work together to make the songs as tight and perfect as possible. Working out all the harmonies and everything, as they go. Such as they did for "Frozen Love." I think their lyrical styles are too different for them to each write the lyrics. Though I'm sure it could be done if they really wanted to... but there might be some knock-down, drag-out fights along the way! ![]()

This would be awesome. Ditch Mick and John and do their own thing is what I'd like to see. I think their collaboration would work out well if they could go to newer places and leave all the old heartache and destruction behind. I'd like to hear some lyrics that touch on what it's like to be getting along well again...if, in fact, that's what's going on now... hmmm...

I found the quote in some long interview that Lindsey did recently for the Say You Will promotion. It was posted on the web...somewhere...if I can remember where I saw it I'll post the link.

However, Paul McCartney and John Lennon had two very different styles of writing yet look at all the songs they wrote together...They would each have their own verses that coexisted in the same song. |

That makes NO sense, whatsoever. The current Fleetwood Mac for all intents IS Buckingham Nicks with an infinitely better rhythm section than what they had in 1973. So why get rid of the best rhythm section in rock music? Neither John nor Mick write (well...if you don't count "Lizard People" & "These Strange Times"), so the only songwriters currently IN Fleetwood Mac are Lindsey & Stevie...aka "Buckingham Nicks". I'd say they ARE "doing their own thing" nowadays. |

This time they just need to write the songs from the ground up-together. They can probably rent another house and do the same thing. It hope it actually happens.

Forget writing songs from the ground up. It's a pipe dream. If it happens, it will be one or two songs. Both of them have more than enough material to release an album next year if they wanted to.

TOTALLY COOL
only thing is can they be in the studio long enough without killing each other in order for an album to happen like that..... ![]() It really comes down to...have they grown enough both artistically and as adults (despite their years) in order for that to work. Personally I would like to think so. ![]() ![]() The end result would be AWESOME!! ~Louise~
