Arrow Billboard Charts 7/26

ALBUM:
Billboard 200 - Moves *up* (!) to #75 from #78.

SINGLE (Say You Will):
Adult Contemporary - up to #19 from #22, designated "Airpower"
Adult Top 40 - up to #26 from #27
Still not on Hot 100.

Incidentally, my nominee for worst song of the year _ "Hole in the World" by the Eagles _ moves up to #8 on AC. Bleh!

The song stays at #10 on the RR Adult Alternative Chart.

The single really is not going anywhere. A surprise to me as I thought it would have some radio airpower, but its airplay growth is just middle of the road. Thought AC radio would really take to it, but does not seem to be happening.

Peacekeeper produced much better airplay numbers. Problem is rarely does a third single get much notice if a 2nd single ends up being stagnant.

If I'd have written a song on "Rumours"? How about "You want a what?", or "We should have had a Pre-Nup". (John McVie)

I never heard anything.

FM new songs just don't get played here, but the Eagles will, watch! UGH!

Well, Say You Will didn't move up too much on radio and records this week, but remember this has only been it's third week. Again, Peacekeeper took a while to get airplay, and considering SYW is already in the top 20 on all three charts, I wouldn't give up hope yet. But, is everyone requesting it? Remember we all kept requesting Peacekeeper...we have to do the same with Say You Will.

With absolutely no disrespect meant towards the quality of "Peacekeeper," in regards to classic rock acts, the first new single usually does tend to get the most airplay, as radio programmers are feeding off of the media buzz which accompanies these releases... which is why the Eagles song is getting so much airplay.
If "Hole In The World" were their second or third single from the new album, it's doubtful it would have moved up to #8 so quickly.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if it starts to take a dive, if listener feedback is largely negative towards the song... few people that I've talked to, including big Eagles fans, care for it.

Fleetwood Mac needs another TV appearance to get "Say You Will" out there... it's one of those songs that, the more you hear it, the more you find yourself wanting to hear it.
Definitely Fleetwood Mac's most infectious single since "Little Lies."

I totally agree. The replaying over the 4th of July weekend of the initial Tonight Show appearance was not enough. They were in L.A. all last week. They should have done it live again with the single mix format. Why don't they call me/us for advice?

Every radio DJ in Nashville that I called to play "Peacekeeper" refused. Except for the night they played, and even then I think it was a Classics' station--and I wasn't calling strictly pop stations, you know, I called everybody.

Still haven't heard 'Say You Will' or any mention of its existence.

So much for the "music city"

It is a shame that "Say You Will" isn't taking off faster than it has; I think it's a terrific single. I'm also a bit puzzled -- it has "AC smash" written all over it.
Still, I haven't given up hope yet. After all, it's got the "Airpower" designation on AC this week (don't ask me what that means -- something about it moving up in detections by two different measures), and last week it was "Greatest Gainer." That's nothing to sniff at.

I have yet to hear SYW here. They still play Peacekeeper, heard it yesterday. It would be nice to hear anything new. It seems that alot of the radio stations here are stuck on the old stuff. I hear Monday Morning alot, GYOW, The Chain.

Strangely, I've heard Say You Will on the radio here in London about twice a day for the past two months! Great stuff!

I don't listen to the radio at work (I don't really have access to one, so I'm stuck w/ CDs) but a friend of a friend told me tonight that she likes the new FM song...I'm like, "Oh yeah...Peacekeeper..." (thinking to myself, Big f*cking deal) and she said, "No, the other new one...don't know what it's called." So my friend and I started singing Say You Will to her and she's like, "Yeah! That's it!" I guess they have been playing it a lot near me!!!! So even in crappy old CT it's getting coverage.
