Default Lb / Fm Guitar Chord Help :)

Hello All

I was wondering and had sort of a strange/dumb request . I am barely learning how to play the Guitar, acoustic mostly, and learning the basic chords. I was wondering if any of the Guitar savvy ppl out here could let me know, on the songs below, what chord I can play the entire song in , meaning, I know I will need to eventually need to change chords, chord progression maybe? But I was wondering If there was one (1) chord for each song that I could strum the entire way through, I would appreciate it 

I know it’s not the best way, but it’s all I can grasp right now . If anyone can help, with the best recommended chord to play for each song, I know some of the songs may have multiple, but if I could strum one chord, what would it be:

. Go Your Own Way (Acoustic)

. Under The Skin

. End Of Time

. Soul Drifter

. Countdown

. All My Sorrows

. Did You Miss Me

Thank you

David, I will record a video for you within the next few days if I can to help you along. I completely (inadvertently) wiped my OS last night, so it's gonna take a few days to get me back up and running.

David I don't want to sound mean but that is kind of a silly request... You'd be better off just jumping in at the deep end and trying to learn a song with chord changes. If you don't want to change chords too much then you could try learning Go Your Own Way using all power chords, that would be a good start, plus you could hear the melody of the song fairly well, those chords all have the same basic shape so all you'd have to do is move your hand up and down the fretboard.

Hi David,

A easy way to play "Go Your Own Way" on a acoustic guitar, this is how I was taught when I 1st started playing.

Capo: 5th fret

Chords for the verse D-Dsus2-A-G
Chords for the chorus: Bm-G- A

I also have seen another way of playing the rhythm

Capo 8th fret

Chords for the verse A-Asus2- E-D
Chords for the chorus: F#m -D- E

Power Chords: for the verse (no capo)
F5:133xxx
C5:x355xx
Bb5:x133xx

Power Chords for the chorus
Dm:x577
Bb5:x133xx
C5x355xx
The numbers represent where to place your fingers on the fret board

I hope this helps a little, I've been playing on and off for over 20 years, and still consider my self a beginner, I come to alot of rutts when I play which slows me down unfortunatly.

Here is another easy song I learned. "Save Me A Place off of Tusk.

Chords: F-Gm-C(when playing the C chord I place my pinky on the the 2nd string 3rd fret) you'll know when to place the pinky while playing/ then back to F. Repeat the chord progression throughout the song.

If you want to start learning a few easy FM songs to get you started i would suggest you strum along to:

Dreams:
Its very easy to play and you can get all the way through it (KINDA ON THREE BASIC CHORDS.)
F & G will see you all the way to the Chorus then Am & G (kinda) will see you through the chrous.

Second Hand News:
Well its a little faster and the chords are only A, D, E (and E7 which is very similar to E. You could learn it start to finish in 30 mins if you can move between those basic chords.

Thats pretty much where i started out anyway and I am by no means a great guitarist but these are fun and easy to play.

I'm a newbie, too. I got my first guitar for Christmas, so I appreciate all the help Keeping it to stuff I can do with just 3 chords is exctly what I'm looking for! Lindsey's playing inspires me and terrifies me at the same time so you guys keeping it simple is very much appreciated.

A capo only costs about 15$-- you can buy them at any music store, or you can purchase one through amazon. Simple to use. I'd be lost without one!

David, a good song to practice your chord changes is " I Don't Wanna Know" off of Rumours. This was 1 of the songs I learned early on because you change chords primarilly after each chord you strum especially the intro.

I play using a capo on the 4th fret.
Intro: G - D -C - D -C - D- ( repeat chord progresssion) that is how I play the intro, it'll give you good practice with chord changing
